the ccm already had a ground in the harness that is being used
So if I understand correctly, you grabbed one of the connectors that goes to the bov/shutters (solid gray) in the harness, and spliced that to a blue/yellow in the same harness?

Some people use tascaparts.com

Levittown has been a little cheaper for me.

Thank you, I will definitely price this out with them.

I had the new harness on the work bench. About 10 inches from the main connector I split the loom in half. Cut the blue/yellow wire and soldered the end of the blue/yellow that is going to the ccm with one of the solid gray in the loom(I didn't cut the gray just pulled apart the insulation). Didn't mess with any connectors as those are being used when the harness is installed.
No cutting or soldering on the existing truck wiring. Taped it up and stuffed the wire bunch back into the loom and taped it up. Still looks like the factory harness when installed. The solid gray feeds 12v switched to the bov and shutters. According to Ford wiring diagram, solid gray feeds a few other items like a/c clutch relay and oil pressure module. All on a 10 amp fuse. So far I have been using it without any over load.
edit: 5.0 harness might not have that wire in the loom since there is no bov or lower shutter.

I had the same issue, you need to shop on a regular computer and not your phone. The parts that have hardware are multiple items so it takes a while after you add it to cart(a dialog comes up after you add them) and for some reason a mobile device has a hard time on the site.

Ok I'll drive normally and see if it goes off some time. Maybe I haven't given it enough seat time. Thanks
