Parts are ordered!

I did not order the ACC switch - as it will be coming with my new Platinum wheel.

After this mod, I am done (I hope......)!

I have a MINI that I want to prep for the track.

I wonder how much it would cost for the dealership to install all of this? Maybe 3 hours labor?

Most likely, the technician would have to call the Ford hotline. I doubt they (Ford) would give them a custom as-built file as well. Best case scenario, the technician would have to input a custom, manual entry as-built file for each module.

Sounds like you'd be in for a several hundred dollars for labor. They may not be able to complete it.

Just priced it up at my local dealer.

Gonna be a wee bit pricier in Canada to add adaptive cruise after the fact.

$1,377 CAD with tax!!!!!

And that's without the adaptive cruise wheel buttons! (I bought a used set off a forum member).

Nothing is cheap in Canada, we get rooked for everything......

Gutted, I start searching the internet for alternatives. Canadian online dealers are just as bad, anything coming out of the states gets killed on exchange and shipping to almost the price point of Canadian dealer prices. I'd also get a nasty surprise at pickup since duties and taxes will get levied at the border and wouldn't be cheap.

Then I happen across a Rockauto link. 390 bucks when I search the Motorcraft service parts number that the dealership changed the OEM part number up to (DY-1395). I double check by looking it up through their catalog menu and yup, there it is for a 2016 F-150.

Shipping surely is going to suck, right? Nope, 10 bucks.

Taxes? 56 bucks GST.

Rockauto 5% off knocks 20 bucks off the total.

all done, shipped to my door: 441 CAD bucks.

I'll take that! a little more than half off what anyone else I can get it from wants.

Now, about another 200-250 in dealer parts and I'm good to go.

Shoudl be roughly 600-700 CAD to add adaptive cruise. Assuming you already have forscan and IDS/VCMII. If not, add that or the price to have the dealer do the calibration for you.

Install it, do a little bit of work in forscan (livinitup has given me some things to try rather than uploading an asbuilt file from another truck), fire up IDS to calibrate and see if it's going to work.....

Good luck!! My parts are all ordered ... waiting rather impatiently!

Thing is, I have to wait for the Platinum steering wheel I ordered (which also has the ACC button) before I can do anything ... oh, and I need to finish the APA first, too.

Please keep us updated on how configuring the truck goes.

You could fly me up to CA and I'll do it for cheaper than $1400 CAD lol.

It's completely done. The adaptive Cruise Control runs great. I will be pulling 10,000 lbs tomorrow and will see how it works with a load behind it.

Great job on the mod! I'm about to bite the bullet and order the parts.

Does anyone know where the harness plugs into? Obviously the radar module but what about the other connections? I was trying to find the other connection points on my truck with no luck.

thanks
