A typical way to check for ACC compatibility is to check the pigtail on the passenger side of the bumper for the ACC HS CAN 2 wires. In addition, you would also check to see if the fuse is present in the engine compartment fuse box for the automatic braking (solenoid) function.

Edit: It is assumed that you have the 8" IPC - if you don't, you would need to add that as well.
I have the 8" IPC, I will take a look for the fuse first, if it is there, then I will look for the wiring for the front bumper harness.

Thanks!!!

Parts were delivered on Monday and everything was installed on Tuesday. Everything works good; just waiting to head to the dealership to get the calibration completed (I don't have access to IDS and have to travel for work for the next few weeks).

It was cold when I did the installation, and one of the three black grommets on the radar/CCM itself split when I was tightening the nut. Does anyone have access to the Ford data to figure out what the replacement part number is for it? It states in the service manual for installation that these grommets should be inspected and replaced, so I would assume they are a serviceable part. Any help would be appreciated!

You can see the 3 grommets in the image below; I'm referring to the black grommets with the steel screws through the middle and not the black scrivets:

without the 8" screen would the system default to always on?

Anyone have any idea what it would take to add ACC to a 501A package?

Thanks

post #148 shows where to get hs2 signal or where you could probably tap, it is also at the obd2 connector

if you get it added to your 501a that would pave the way for all lower trims!

ive done some research but my wife won't let me order parts, yet

Woot, parts arrived today. Everything installed except the steering wheel buttons. If it is nice tomorrow then I will do the buttons and the forscan stuff. Hmm, thinking of putting a post up looking for someone with IDS in the chicagoland area but not sure best area...probably general as this thread is.
Thanks again all for the very very useful information. Yes, I searched on how to take bumper off and how to take airbag out so I didn't have to ask for that!

If there's anyone out there with the IDS in the Atlanta area, or have a friendly shop with one who would do the calibration, I'm ready to jump on this bandwagon. The parts and the Forscan part are no problem, but my dealers are not going to play ball.

PM me if you can help, or know someone who can.

For anyone else who may be wondering, W790214S300 is the part number for the grommets. It currently doesn't list that they are applicable to F-150, however I can confirm that they are identical to what is found on our adaptive cruise control modules.

nice, thanks! They are very temperamental. I barely over tightened on my first pass at the install and the bulb on the bolt popped through. It was a real pita to get it out and reset.

Question: I have a 2015 F150, when they had the Recall for the adaptive cruise control was it an alignment adjustment that was needed to fix the issue or was it programming? I;m just wondering if I installed this on my truck if I would be S.O.L. because the programming is already flawed.

I believe all the modules that are sold are the latest hardware, and have the latest software calibration. So there shouldn't be an issue.
