Actual mileage 3.5 ECOboost
166.7 miles of country highway - speeds between 45 and 62.
Computer stated mileage : 25.2 MPG
Actual calculated from fuel receipt : 6.48 Gal of gas, 25.7 MPG
given the possible difference between the pumps, I'd call that basically the same number. Which I found stunning, because a: the computer wasn't way off, it was spot on. b: the ecoboost f150 delivered the stated 26 MPG in the real world just as advertised despite having to include various stops for stoplights, some hills etc.. 65+ its more like 20 MPG, but get down to 55 and it can be 26, get down to 50 and flat and it seems to close in on 30. not that driving around at 50 is fun, but sometimes that is the speed limit.
anyhow, i thought it was interesting - since my prior Honda computer was WAY off. How is the 2.7 in the real world?

Few people get a chance to spend a few hours going ~50 mph on open highway

I'm averaging 19.4 according to the computer with 12,500 miles on the truck. During the 4th of July weekend, I got 24.9 average (according to the computer) from Houston to Baton Rouge on I-10. Cruise mostly set to 79. Truck specs in sig.

Typical around town and mixed use I get more like 18.7
I have 4 possible routes to my cabin due to the geography. one offers a VERY BORING drive at speeds of 45 to 60 with stoplights and lots of cops to enforce that rate. the other 3 offer either freeway (70+), a mountain pass, or a windy twisty mountain pass, respectively. surprisingly the slow boring route is also the shortest TIME, and also about 33% gas savings. ugh! was rooting for the windy twisty mountain pass.

Leading the way for a group campers pulling campers at 55-60mph, pulling no camper with the truck just the leader to the site.
The following screen shots show pretty good numbers over distance for a combined mileage average. Don't rule the 3.5 EB out for fuel mileage. Yes I'am over 65 and do not need to be the first to go and last to stop. Oh ya this is on good old 87 octane fuel from any old vendor. Trip is for short trips, trip 2 is over the 5k oil change and is reset at each oil change. And yes lie oh meter re-calibrated to with in .1mph

All else being equal, I'd say the 2.7 will yield about 2mpg's better in most comparable situations. In a scenario similar to yours, I can get 27-28mpg. My overall summer average has been about 24, with mostly 2-lane highway (50-65mph), some freeway (65-80mph), and very little city.
When driven smartly, all these new F150's do pretty darn good, IMO.
