Well others like BMW and Toyota do it too. I'd go for a Rolls Merlin sound.

Went to the dealer the other day to get the tag from my trade in. Asked the service adviser if they could hook their machine up real quick and disable the noise. He asked if it was a "tick" I was hearing. So I went over the explanation with him. He told me they were swamped and I could make an appointment, so I figured what the hell, why not. He asked if I would be able to leave it with them as it will take an hour or 2.... Seriously dude????? I'll be d*amned if Im going to wait 2 hours for a 2 minute job... If they won't do it right away when I pull up I will just live with it.

So I'm new to owning a Ford F150. I just picked up a 2016 F150 Lariat and love it. My question is, I saw in this thread about disconnecting some wires to get rid of the fake engine noise. I see an amp behind my rear seat. Is that
where the plug is that I need to get to, and if so..how do you get to it?
Is there a simple way to remove the rear seat back or what? Any info someone could provide to get to it would be so appreciated. I have the sony sound system with 3.5 ecoboost engine. Thanks in advance.

Page 1 of this thread explains it very well with great pictures. As far as getting behind the seat goes, flip the driver's side rear seat headrest forward and look down behind the seat for the release lever.

Thanks Chris....I know there is great picture of what wires to disconnect....I just couldn't figure out how to get behind the seat easily to get to the connector. I will check tonight and do what you said.

Thank you - Duane

For the service guys out there, by any chance can this be disabled in the 15 Lincoln MKT?
Wife's car and we hate the sound. Her 12 MKT was a better (quieter) vehicle.

Dealer said because it has the THX audio system they can't do it. Not sure yet what they are looking at, but maybe I can locate the same wires if it can't be done via the IDS.

Had it disabled at the dealer this morning..took about 10 minutes. No charge. It would be so nice if Ford made this option that the end user could turn on or off. Again thanks for you help. I didn't get the rear seat to fold down last evening. All i could find was what looked like a strape..pulled on it but nothing happened. Felt all around behind the seat up top but did feel or find anything to get the rear seat back to fold down. Guess I need to dig around some more.

Duane, the bottom of the driver's side rear seat must be folded up. This tips the top of the seat back forward to expose the short round spring loaded pin. Push it upward with your thumb and release the seat bottom while holding up on that pin and both the seat bottom and back pivot forward exposing all the stuff you need to get to. Let me know how you make out.
