My knock on a Lomax is the remote tailgate won't work, unless you do an install mod where the cover is raised a bit. It does look nice though.

I bought one and wasn't impressed as it was literally coming apart at the seams, so I immediately returned it. Might have been a fluke, as there have been pretty good reviews here overall, but I didn't want to deal with chancing a replacement doing the same thing in 6 months. I really liked the appearance, but just felt the build quality and design was lacking.
I went with a Leer Trilogy X2T instead and just posted a review and pics yesterday.

That's what giving me hesitation, how are the panels held together? It's the best looking hard cover in my opinion just the longevity worries me. I'm not a fan of that fat rubber strip they put down the sides of most hard covers.

The "hinges" are a strip of some sort of reinforced, flexible vinyl that is adhered to the panels (think 3M emblem tape). They were peeling off of the panels on the one I got in a couple of spots and just didn't provide a solid hinge in my opinion, as the material could bunch up when you folded the panel over.

I've had one on my 2016 since October of 2016. So far it has navigated a wisconsin winter very nicely.
The weather seals all look new, the seams that secure the panels together show zero wear. The exterior finish on the panels is holding up very well and there are no leaks along the bed cover rails or ends. 90% of my driving is closed, but I have run with it folded and latched open and it is solid.
Its a great cover.
Oh, you can open and close the tailgate with the cover latched. With cover latched and tailgate locked, it is about as secure as you would need.
