About to re-gear from 3.31 to 4.09/4.10. Any reason why I shouldn't?

Nobody is saying tunes don't have value. They DO NOT address the decrease in mechanical advantage by adding rotational mass, increasing size and increasing rolling resistance.
You will net better MPGs with appropriate gears than you will by trying to compensate with only a tune because the tune is using fuel to spin the extra weight/size/resistance vs mechanical advantage.

So I got my truck back today (4.09/4.10 FRPP F & R). Good news so far is after about 60 miles of driving it's much more lively and my mpg is up to 18 from 15 (according to the computer). Bad news is the new front pinion seal is leaking, so this saga is not over yet.

bummer about the seal but hell yeah for the gears! Best money I spent, next up programmer and maybe some pipes

Called a reputable driveline & axle shop near me today. Talked to one of the guys and he said he needs to know what kind of front diff my truck has. How do I figure this out? I told him i have the super 8.8 in the rear but I didn't know about the front.
