Thumbs up 2018 XLT Reg Cab Audio System Question

Can someone let me know what the audio system consist of. I understand the XLT when ordered with Sync 3 that is the 8" touch screen. When ordered with Sirius Radio it comes with 5 speakers, 2 pillar (tweeters), 1 center dash (2-way) and 2 door (2-way) speakers. Does this audio system have an external amplifier? Is it considered a premium audio system. If not, does anyone know if the sync 3 audio portion have an line level output for an amplifier input? If system is not great for audio, I will have to design an audio system to connect to the Sync3 unit.

Thanks so much for your feedback.

The only amplification comes from the stock headunit from the system you describe. You can use the stock headunit, order a cable from amazon for like 30 bucks to connect your laptop to the truck, download free software called forscan change the stock head unit code into outputting a flat 4v output you could connect directly to after market amps. Replacing the door speakers is pretty straight forward and will give you the best bang for the buck. You can also order online small subwoofer boxes that go under the rear seats. You can see my build in my sig. good luck sir.

Thanks for the info. So the stock head unit has an integrated amplifier that is directly outputted to the speakers. Do you know what the audio signal strength coming from the head unit is? In your opinion can the stock head unit output be connected to say a 2 channel line out converters which will then split the audio signal into two outputs, one for high freg amp which will go to door speakers and pillar tweeters and the other for low freg amp which go to a subwoofer.
