Default 6R80 to 10R80

I wonder if it would be possible to swap out a 6 speed for the 10 speed auto trans?
I presume it would be straight forward mechanically, but I wonder about the electronics/computer/etc.
The things that make me go hmmm....

Good luck. Everything is computer controlled now.

Seems like a lot of work, but I'd love to swap one into my Falcon. Along with the 2nd gen 3.5, of course...

more than enough to outweigh the benefits of putting one in an older vehicle.

Well...They run about $1,500 for a used one out of a wrecked 2018 donor vehicle from the local auto parts recycler. I have a 2017 5.0 Screw 4x4 so it should just bolt up (huge ASSumption here).
If the wiring harness was similar and we could work a little Forscan magic on the pcm etc. you could potentially have a significantly more fuel efficient truck...
....just sayin

Not a modding expert, but I am guessing you will need to swap out the productivity screen as it only displays 6 gears, not 10.

I'd suggest checking with livinitup on that, but I think the 2017 clusters are the same for the 5.0 and 3.5EB, and the latter had the ten speed in 2017.

Did the 5.0 change for 2018, though? If so, the assumption that it will bolt up might not hold. Otherwise, I'd expect that the simplest path would be to swap the relevant control modules as well as the transmission from the donor.
