The OEM shocks on my 2016 FX4 were terrible. I installed 5100s on the rear only and it made a world of difference.

Just got my bed sprayed today so will be looking to see if that added weight will help the rear end stay planted.

You will need to check and make sure you get the ones for your truck.

Is it a 4x2 or a 4x4?

These are the ones that fit my truck.

Is there enough weight there to make a difference? Less than 100#?

The 5100's for the FRONT are still back ordered and not available. No vendor seems to know when they will be back in stock either. One vendor said Bilstein acts like they could not care less about not having the product available.. nice touch Bilstein!

Auto Anything shipped the 2 REAR shocks when I had ordered and PAID in early Dec for front and rears. Then sent me an email telling me they were back ordered and not due until first of Jan. Then a day later said back ordered until END of Jan. Called them today and they said they have NO CLUE when they will be back in stock. Oh the guy said he's sure they will be back in stock some day..

I guess I'll install the rear shocks now and just wait when the 5100's get back in stock. Oh they did suggest an alternative that was only 400 bucks a side instead of the 5100.......

Do it safely and use a good compressor.
Also highly recommend an alignment after putting it back together. You will be taking the front end apart and want to make sure alignment is there. I had mine done and no mater how careful we were, the front end did need to be realigned.

Also thinking of getting the Eibachs. I can find Rear 4WD 5100s for sale but fronts have been out of stock everywhere for a few weeks.

Ya, this true. I've had one that nothing was needed, but the rest the toe in needed adjustment.

I have a new 18 and did just that and Yes it does make a difference. Had a 15 with Bilsteins as well.
