Default 5.6 or 6.6 bed?

Ordered a short bed...but woke up second guessing myself this morning.

Current truck is a short bed so it's what I'm used to. I did opt for bed extender.

Thoughts???

Search?

1/2 will say short bed. 1/2 will say longer bed. Some will point out driveability. Others will point out fitting in garage.

I have an '04 Supercrew 4x4 and the longer bed just looks odd to me somehow... It's all a personal choice and depends on things such as the garage parking too. If I had 1 foot longer I'd be hanging out of my carport...

I have been toying around with this decision myself currently my 07 has the 6'5 bed and I'm use to it, but I live on a fairly narrow road and have a narrow driveway so backing up my 19' boat is quite a challenge especially in the dark.So was thinking on going shorter. On the other side of the coin that foot and a half has bailed me out on more then one occasion especially if I decide to put my quad in the back instead of using trailer. To me the truck looks lopsided with the short bed as well,Decisions decisions decisions lol, just glad I'm not ready to order gives me time to contemplate.

Man, it all depends on what you're going to do with your truck. Really not an answer anyone can give but yourself.

Are you going to haul things that would need the 6.5? If so, get the 6.5. If you're not, save the money and get the 5.5.

I am on my second 6.5 screw and I would not go any other way. I actually use the bed and need the room. The 5.5 is small for MY needs. I also think in MY opinion the 6.5 screws look better. IMHO.

Its all about what you use it for. Its really YOUR decision.

I carry an ATV in mine so the 6.5' is better. With tailgate down its 8'.

5.5' would never work for me but...your needs may be different.

Your choice man.

I went with 6.5 super crew. I wanted to be able to sleep in the bed with a topper without being all squished up. I was upsizing from an SUV and my wife also said "what is the point in getting a big truck if you short change yourself with a small bed". I should mention that my garage is 28ft long so that wasn't an issue.

Getting short bed only because of garage space.

Like others said, just be honest with your usage. I have an old supercab and I only truly use the full length of that bed a couple times a year at the absolute most. When I upgrade itll be a SCREW with 5.5 bed. The few times a year I need more length Ill use the trailer. Saves me money and the foot of garage space Id lose.
