Hey All, I have the same chirp/squeak that sledneck has in his video in my brand new 2018 5.0 King Ranch and it is driving me nuts. The truck sounds like total garbage! Been to the dealer 3 times already and nothing has ever been done. Ive just gotten the run around and they tell me well all 5.0's make that noise. Its totally unbelievable to have such a problem with a truck I paid 63K for. I am seriously regretting trading in my 2017 Super Duty 6.7 Powerstroke which was an absolute animal and a gem for this garbage because I sold my business and no longer had a need for such a big truck. I think this F150 is a total failure from an engineering perspective and nothing is done to correct it on their end. So far my 2018 King Ranch has four problem 1) The squeaking/chirp sound in slednecks video 2) the 5.0 Whistle between 1-2200RPM that everyone complains about here in this forum in multiple other threads, 3) Timing chain adjustment when cold and you let off the pedal a serious grinding, cranking noise takes place (TSB for that) brought truck in to dealer had no clue what I was talking about, and the 10 speed transmission I think is a total failure and needs a lot more work. It gear hunts constantly, is very noisy, and is not smooth or refined in the slightest. Overall so upset about this truck I am even contemplating trading it in to pick up another Super Duty before they ruin that truck with this 10speed transmission garbage for the 2020 year and I was even looking at the 2019 Ram 1500 (and I am a die hard Ford Guy) Owned 8 Super Duties and this 150 is a disgrace to Ford and a serious POS! Keep me updated guys if you guys get anywhere with dealers on fixes. In the meantime I guess we will have to deal with this bulls$$t and maybe get a magnaflow exhaust to cover up these stupid noises, cranks, and rattles this engine and transmission make.

I totally understand your frustrations! I have an 18 5.0 with the intermittent chirp at idle, I only hope they address it because it def sounds terrible when you remote start it and come out and find it chirping. The 10 speed gets better over time. Perfect? No, I have some surging most prominent in 4th gear....hopefully this is addressed with a TSB as well. The truck is still really great! Just give it some time to learn your driving habits. I hope things get better for you. I do agree though. Ford is out of touch with how much they ask for these trucks vs the return on our dollars. They should be openly addressing these very common issues.

I just want Ford to take responsibility for these failures and fix them no questions asked! Then I would be happy and if these dealers would be somewhat helpful it would be great. The most annoying part of the truck is the chirp in slednecks video that I think a lot of people with 18 5.0’s have. I really like the truck and I want to keep it put an exhaust on it, level it out and make it nice but I’m so scared to dump money in this thing that sounds like this. My 2017 super duty and all my super duties have been fantastic and amazing trucks, this one has just failed me recently and I wouldn’t have expected this from Ford! Hopefully Ford admits the problems and makes fixes for them, the truck is the perfect size for me now as a daily driver and I want my issues fixed so I can keep it for the next 10 years!

Brought my truck in to the dealership with a list of problems, the chirp being the very last on my priority thing as I thought it was normal. Truck sounded Exactly like in Sledneck's video, since the day I drove it off the lot. The chirping was very annoying especially when you're talking to someone out the window like at a drive through. Truck has just a little over 10,000KM now, and the chirp is gone 100% (no exaggeration), I didn't think the chirp could go away, but its dead quiet at idle now. Only thing you hear is the low idling tone of the exhaust, which is a nice change.

It can be fixed.

If I had the patience to type so much I would have written the same thing. It's very frustrating and I hope it goes away, but I see someone else is saying that it goes away eventually around 10k.

Anyways here is another video I took:

@Johnny_bravo00 That's awesome! How many miles do you have on the repair? What's your confidence that it's gone? How long were you without your truck?

Only about 1 hour worth of driving. Cant speak for the longevity of how quiet it is obviously, but am very confident in it. The second the truck started it was a night and day difference, sounds so smooth...
Dropped the truck off at the dealership first thing Monday and got a call to pick it up Wednesday early afternoon. The chirping was really not the main issue it was at the dealership for though, had to bring it back as they hadn't tried to remedy the accel/decel rattle (which was my main concern). So I brought the truck right back, and its currently still there.

I dont have any videos, but thanks to iPhone "live pictures" I have about a 2 second clip of it chirping away. Unfortunately I doubt there is a way to upload that here.

Thank you for the update - I will contact my dealer with that parts list. The idle squeak is my primary concern - it is loud. I want to install a Magnaflow muffler, but want to get this noise take care of first.

The truck also has the decel rattle, but it is very faint compared to videos I have seen. In fact I think most people wouldn't even notice the rattle.

Took my truck to the dealer after sending the Service Manager that information. They claim the noise is normal and is from the HPFP. Pulled a new truck with 25 miles up, assuring me that it's a normal noise and the new truck would replicate it. That truck did not make the noise, but it was also not fully up to temp yet either.

The best they could do is have me bring back the truck Monday and drop it off. They didn't have a loaner vehicle for me tonight.

The dealership is 35 minutes and 25 miles away. I'm tempted to try one closer dealership but it's not affiliated with the dealer we bought the truck from.
