Question 5.0 vs 3.5EB potential.....

I'm looking at getting out of my 13 Charger SRT8 for a 15+ F150. After the SRT I don't want just a stock truck. So.... I'm done so research and to me the 5.0 supercharged and tune alone is faster than a EB with full exhaust, tune, meth etc. I see the EB record at 12.3 with everything plus nitrous. The Vmp F150 ran better bone stock with just phase 1 roush SC. There anything I'm missing?

theres no replacement for displacement. not to mention the 5.0 with the roush will out last the severely boosted turbo engine to get to the same HP. But Im a V8 guy and cant stand the ricey sound of a v6

Yeah the sounds makes me lean 5.0 too. Always had V8s since I've been driving.

I want something new(ish) and preferably 4x4 if I'm gonna have a truck.
I was trying to find some info on the Roush vs Whipple (shelby) since Roush claims 600 or 650 depending on Phase and Shelby claims 700. Tough to locate but have read both are really neck and neck.

Depends on how much you want to spend and how fast you want to go. If you are up to spending 7 to $10,000 on a supercharger, 5.0 is the only way to go. A tune only Ecoboost runs pretty good and is a fraction of the price.

5.0 supercharged hands-down. The Whipple has more potential but from what I hear/read customer support is not so good.

I think his name is engineermike... any way he's got a Whipple 5.0 putting down great numbers on the conservative Whipple tune. He also seems very educated on the matter, seems to have done his research. And would probably be worth picking his brain

I say go with the 5.0. If your gonna have a hot rod truck, have one that sounds good also. Can't beat the sound of a throaty V8.
