I looked on their site, it says that with the 2 bar MAP sensor, an outside tune is not needed. On the 15 up F150 that MAP sensor adjust everything and keeps the numbers in a safe range.

You can not run the factory ford tune with it, if that's what you're saying.

As far as aftermarket tunes go, most f-150 guys elect to keep the whipple tune because its powerful, safe, and emissions legal 50 state (if that matters to you). My supercharged 5.0 passes inspection no problem, whereas my tune-only 2011 eb had to be returned to stock to pass. Anyway, most mustang guys seem to stick with the whipple tune unless they convert to e85 or go crazy with the build. The only tune comparison I could fine was the one below, that shows a mild gain with an aftermarket tune. It's not worth the added risk to me.

It's nice to hear whipple is putting out a solid tune with there blower kits. On the 04-10 3v motors, the whipple a tune left too much on the table. It was almost too safe..
What temp t stat is whipple specifying?
Any in the cab heat compromises in the winter?
Got any good heat exchanger mods?
What are your ACT or IAT temps heating up to in boost?

1. The kit comes with a thermostat. I don't know what it is but I assumed 160.
2. What is winter?
3. For the heat exchanger, I recommend getting an ecoboost lower grill and also do the fan upgrade from whipple. My iat's are maybe 10 deg over ambient and the water stays close to ambient temp.

No, I understand theirs comes with their own tune and the 2 bar MAP sensor keeps all the numbers at a safe level.

There are places like ID Motorsports and OZ Tuning that do some improved Whipple tuning. Not so much aimed at raw power increases but drivability improvements focused on shifting, etc. over the base Whipple tune. I'll be trying both on mine.

Your numbers are a bit optimistic. The 3.5" pulley will put it around the 650 mark. Out of the box you're looking at 550-600 depending on what kind of dyno you use.

Rear wheel versus crank.

Serious question...has anyone else seen dyno numbers on the 3.5" pulley? Other than mine?

Yes, but not my truck so I won't speak about it since I don't know all the details.
