Had the Roush power pack level 1 (CAI & tune) done about a week ago. I already had the Roush cat back exhaust. Night and day from factory tune, especially above 3000 Rpms! It really screams now. I am using 93 fuel since the tune and I have mostly highway commute (about 70 miles rt) and have noticed slight gain in mpg (maybe 1/2 to 1 mpg), but I'm playing right now because it's so much fun! Man I love this truck. What an amazing machine and comfy too!!!

Good information. I had the Level 2 tune quoted, but the wanted another $500 to retain the warranty. I was also concerned about the minimum 91 octane. I already have the CAI and exhaust, but decided to spend my money on the Rigid LED lightbar setup instead. I may still revisit, but the HP gain wasn't clear in speaking with my dealer and Roush directly.

So for $765 plus the fee to flash the PCM I get a Roush CAI and a Roush tune: 16 hp, 19 lb-ft, and better throttle mapping / driveability. If I want to use 87 octane fuel instead of 91 octane, no problem, but reduced power. A bit more expensive than a set of tunes, but there is some hardware included, and it would feel more OEM given it's Roush and done at a dealership...

As the OP for this thread I feel its only right that I let everyone know I'm currently running the Omega tune from tuning by Oz. I can't say enough good things about the tune and I would highly recommend it. Ken's custom service is unheard of and the fact that you can run any octane level is very appealing especially bc I like to run a little e85 every now and then.

Has anybody noticed an increase in mileage WHILE TOWING using a custom tune? I'm getting about 11-12 while towing my boat and although it seems a normal range I'd love to see that increase. I had an older Gryphon ages ago on my 2006 and it was the best purchase I have ever done on a vehicle. Now I worry about warranty and if it's worth it when my main goal is to get better distance while towing.

I've seen some info with the Eco's but not much with the towing and 5.0's with a tune.

Let me know how you like the 93 tune.

Check out my thread from May 2016, I dyno'd my 2015 5.0 and show the comparisons.

I suggest y'all take a good look at ZEM's thread before wasting the money. He's the not the only one on this board that has had the same results, or lack thereof, after getting a tune.
