Default 5.0 and flex fuel

Have been reading on this forum that some of the 5.0 motors do not have the flex fuel filler and show e-15 max. Been doing some research and have found multiple 5.0s on the lot without the flex fuel label on the gas fil, under hood emissions sticker, or window sticker. Ford tells me that all 5.0 meet flex fuel standards, but not some state emission standards while running e-85 so therefore are not labeled for flex fuel. That said, they could not tell me which states. My local dealer claims they have no way of knowing how an ordered truck will arrive, and that if my truck has no flex fuel labeling, they will void warranty for any fuel related issue if I run e-85 when the truck lacks e-85 labels. Believe it or not, Ford tells me that this is the dealership's decision to make (pure BS).

My belief is that the dealer could find out but is just being lazy. I'm working up and order, but right now telling the dealer that if the truck arrives without flex fuel labeling the deal is off.

Has anyone resolved the actual facts of this issue?

Flex fuel on the 2017 5.0 is an option. I don't have flex fuel badging on mine but my window sticker has flex fueling listed under the optional equipment

The window stickers used to say "meets California emission standards" which meant that is was 50 state legal.

Not trying to argue as I only know what I'm being told. Dealer says that while 5.0 is and option, whether it is a flex fuel 5.0 is not. I saw their form and it doesn't give a choice, just 5.0. What does you emissions data under the hood say?

My window sticker lists flex fuel under optional equipment and on the right top it says flex fuel gasoline E-85.

I will take a pic and post it tomorrow when its light out.

My 16 definitely has the FFV sticker on the tailgate and the fuel filler. Thought they all were FFV, learn something new every day.

What I just can't understand is how Ford can manufacture a truck and nobody involved in selling them has a clue about this.

My 18 Lariat 5.0 came with an ecoboost badge on the tailgate instead of the flex fuel badge. I have no interest in running E85 so it really didn't matter to me. I removed the Ecoboost badge. Great QC inspection!!!!!

Full disclosure. I have an alternate motive to play with E-85. My hotrod is not emissions legal, but I can get an exemption for alternative fuel vehicles and E--85 counts as an alky burner. Being able to tanker 35 gallons of government subsidized race gas in my truck is a possibility worth investigating.

My 2017 also has flex fuel on the window sticker, and on the fuel filler, but no tailgate badge, and that’s fine with me. I wouldn’t expect to use it anyway, since I dont know of any place that sells it.
