5.0 COBRA JET vs BOSS 302 intakes 5STAR PERF.

My vote would be to skip the intake, skip the Procharger, and put the money into a Whipple. I like that blower's power band the best for a 5.0 truck. I had an F-1 Procharged Mustang and it was a blast but instant power down low is what I want in a truck. Go with any of the TVS kits if the Whipple is too pricey, just make sure you don't skip any of the support parts either way.

Edit, nevermind, looks like Kennebells are the best and also look the best in the finish department.

If I would have gone 5.0 my focus would be on performance mods first (i.e. blower). I'd want to make sure that was done in case I ran into money or wife approval problems. You have something really special with a blown 5.0 truck. But that is also the most expensive route and since I went Ecoboost the power adder was already there - I'm glad all I have to do for real performance is full exhaust and a dyno tune. But I'm a Mustang guy at heart and this is just my preference.

Well I'm not going out to Google to double check before I say this but I think the new Whipple for 2015 will be larger displacement than anything else available (or correct me?). Whipple of late is highly regarded, from what I've read. KB is still great but they definitely were the top dogs 10 years ago.

KB lets you choose up to 4.7L for up to 2,000 HP. Which no-one will be doing without beefing up the engine. Quality of the KBs are insane too, just look at the billet enclosures and polishing they do.

I agree with you 100%, the billet cases from KB are outstanding. I think their biggest kit specific for the 5.0 is 4.2, but that's for a Mustang - do they have kits for F150? I know you can always go 'tuner' style with the blower only. But like you said, unless you're building the motor and adding all the support parts the vehicle specific kits are a good way to go.

would you really consider a stock bottem end w/ a 2000hp motor? or even 1000+

It's nothing more than a fancy looking tunnel ram intake.....they've been making that design for like 50+ years.....very popular big block intake. You can buy a tunnel ram for a big block for around $600 used, there's no way I'd spend $2,300 for that. I'd put another $3,000 to that $2,300 & buy a whipple charger.
