Default 4x4 struts taller?

I have a 2016 xlt 2wd that I'm looking to get a little more height out of. Are the 4x4s taller or just the fx4? Is it a taller strut that makes them taller? And last of all would it bolt up to a 2wd?

5100's man, 5100's. Don't waste your time with stock struts. Get 5100's and have them installed to the height you want and call it a day. You'll be glad you did.

Curious too. If the 4x4 part number for the 5100 is actually longer? Can they bolt into a 2WD and then you could get a touch more lift without having to set the spring rate so high. ???

If they fit, that would be useful. Looking at all the guys lifting their brand new 4x4's...you could probably get their take-offs for free or almost free.

Part number or part? Ha. Stage 3 lists 2 separate 5100 kits, based on driveline.

I'm the one guy in America that would like to reduce the height of a 2018 4wd to the height of a 2wd. I had read on a forum that the struts on the 15-17 150s were the same part number and that the lower control arm was mounted lower on the frame on the 2wd trucks. Again, read it on a forum. Don't know if it was true for the 15-17 trucks, don't know about the 2018s. If anyone could chime in with part numbers/pictures it would be appreciated.

Doubt it. See my post above. Lower mounting point for LCA would raise, not lower. Look at all lift kit trucks, LCA DROP brackets.

The 2wd struts are about an inch or a little more shorter than the 4x4 strut. This is measuring from the base of the spring perch to the bottom of the strut.

I have a 2018 FX4 and have some stock 2016 2wd struts from my old truck. I measured them because I want to drop the front of my FX4 a little. It will work in reverse for you if you want to raise the front of your 2wd.
