Default 4x4 Auto for 5.0 supercharged

Would 4x4 Auto help with getting the power to the ground from a 5.0 with a supercharger reliably and consistently? Could one drive in 4A all the time without issue?

It just seems like there would be issues in 2WD with such a light rear end and that much power.

I know there are a few people here that have a supercharger and wanted to get their thoughts on the matter.

Judging by the 60' times that tuned 4x4 eb's are pulling at the track, I would do it. I nearly got a 4x4 for that reason only, but ran into problems justifying the $3500 increase.

I would too - I really wish XLTs had 4a. I've often wondered how much it would cost to swap out the tcase and switch for it.

Had it on my 2008 Sport Trac. Yes, it will kill any wheel spin or hard take offs.

Much prefer to have either 2WD mode or locked 4WD. Auto was Okay if you don't know how to drive with real 4WD, but other than that, it's a waste.

One has to wonder how well that fancy transfer case and clutch assembly will hold up to the output of a supercharged 5.0... especially if you're liberal with the fun pedal.

There's a Facebook Group-->High-Performance 5.0 F150s.
Lots of good ideas kicked around in that group!

Yeah I would never get the 5.0 SC'd without 4x4. All that power makes no sense if you can't get off the line.

The one in the sport trac was crap compared to this new one. The sport trac would let the rear spin for a split second, then slam on the 4x4 which you get a nice bang in the drive line. With the current 4a, when you have it on, there is a clutch in the transfer case which is seamless and most importantly, no banging driveline.
