4d tech start/stop eliminator

I have the auto start stop eliminator ( https://www.autostopeliminator.com/ ) version. Opening the center console wasn’t that big a deal (10 min job). Watch a couple YouTube videos and you have it down pat. It works great. I believe you can still get a discount with code: F150forum right now. $85 with discount.

hopefully this link works. This is the 4d tech device I’ve been looking at. It appears to do the same thing as the autostop eliminator except you don’t have to crack open the dash. Cost the same as the autostop elimator to.
Id be curious what the difference is between the two. I’ll be researching both

I "installed" the 4d tech about 3 months ago; I believe it disables the bms and this is per 4d. I'm not concerned about this, should I be? Does not have to remain in OBDII port to work.
I also have the double horn honk eliminator from the same company installed.
I really didn't want to take the time to learn forscan, I hate stuff like this.
And I didn't want to crack open the center console. Knowing my luck I would break a clip or once installed I would have a rattle.

First of all- "cracking open the dash?!" It's like 4 bolts and a 5 year old could do it- AAS has been awesome to the forum members- and his products are top notch. Literally forgot I had start stop it works so well with no ill effects and nothing consuming additional ports.

Well I ordered the autostop eliminator. After researching and reading the autostop thread, watching the multiple YouTube videos I felt that was what best suited my needs......for a few reasons.....yes the thought of popping the dash does worry me, but after reading all of the people with the same worry then after the install those same people saying it wasn’t so bad I feel confident I can make the install....I just recently replaced the cabin air filter which is basically popping the dash and glove box so I figure if I can do that I can install the autostop. I thought about forscan but to be honest the only thing I wanted to change about my truck is the a/s/s.....that’s it......it just wasn’t worth learning that system, to me. I almost went with the 4d tech option but I kept hearing how connecting to the OBDII was “bad” and I shouldn’t do it. Bobn I don’t know why but a lot of people seemed concerned about shutting down the BCM so I decided against the 4dtech. Also so many if you endorsed the autostop, not to mention all the 5 star reviews on the website. Lastly I used the forum coupon code and got $15 off plus free delivery. Thanks for that by the way. I plan on owning this truck for a long, long time.....I love the truck in every other aspect except that a/s/s so the auto stop was the obvious choice for me. After I install it I’ll update the post. Thanks again for all the replies.

I have the 4D tech eliminator that I got not that long ago. They used to have a programmer that disabled the BMS when I first looked but came out with a memorize type recently which is the same video the guy posted above. I was intrigued since there was no disassembly. It doesn't do any programming. It just remembers how I left the switch last and re-applies it. As long as I left the switch off then the next time I start the switch says off again and my cluster says auto start stop has been deactivated by the switch. Looking back at the video its barely a month old. I'm guessing they came out with this new style because of the BMS questions. I like that I can reactivate it on the fly with the button if I do end up in traffic and want to let it shut down.

I'm an Autostop Eliminator user and still think I highly prefer it over this 4D eliminator even if only for the simple fact that the install is clean, hidden and doesn't permanently occupy the OBDII port.
I run torque pro using an OBDII adapter to monitor vehicle data, so the factory clean install of the Autostop Eliminator works much better for me.

Installed the eliminator this morning. Add me to the list of happy customers and like others told me don’t let the installation intimidate you. Watch the YouTube videos of the install follow the directions and you’ll be fine. I did find it helpful to have a small prying tool for the initial popping of the top dash but after that it was an easy install. So far it works just like it says. Turn off once and it stays off every time you restart the truck, unless you switch it back on. Hopefully this helps someone
else thinking about the eliminator that has reservations about installing it. If your going to own your truck for a long time then the investment is definitely worth it. Thanks to all who replied. If anyone has any questions feel free to reply to this thread or message me.
