Yes, there is a setting to control the alarm system. You can have it default to All, which includes the interior motion sensors, Perimeter, which disables the interior motion sensors, or Ask, which brings up the option of All or Perimeter on the dash each time you shut off the engine.

Yes, because I did this very thing leaving my dog in the truck twice and the alarm went nutso. I eventually figured out that when exiting, you can select Perimeter Only via the steering wheel to exclude the interior motion setting the alarm off.
