3in rc bolt-on arm lift kit

To clarify, the clunking was with the stock tires - still with this lift. I was trying to imply that the tire upgrade didn't suddenly make it start clunking (because rough country guy was asking me wheel offset questions, ignoring the fact that the issue was with the spring hitting the UCA).
I'll update if an alignment somehow stops the contact from happening.
I'm not sure why everyone sweats the CV angle. The only time I had issues was when I lifted a vehicle with 15 year old parts - the boot ripped within 10 miles and puked grease. I got remanufactured cvs on that car and off roaded the holy hell out of it (still do, 15k miles mostly off road) and they look fine despite some pretty extreme angles and fin touching.

@hour, thanks for the feedback. I bought the kit and will be installing it this week or next. I have two sets of the clamp style spring compressors, hoping to use three per spring. I've installed two level kits and a 4" lift on other F150's and your comment about removing the strut bolts is correct. No need to go through the other 4wd bs. Your truck looks great, hoping my height matches yours, although I don't have anything in or on the bed so should be fine. I am going with 35x12.5 though, fingers crossed for no rubbing. I have seen guys running them on 2.5" levels on here with no problems, just can't get crazy with the offset...so I'm optimistic. Thanks again, will, post pics when done.

I installed the kit this weekend. It was tough, lots of work. Directions could be alot better, had to call RC a few times on Sat to ensure I was installing the RC hat correctly with the bushings and the alignment marking. Anyway, I skipped the actuator removal step as well and instead dropped the lower control arms. I saw a few vids where they did it this way...I wasn't able to get the struts out without doing that. I had no problems compressing the springs. I have two sets of the $30 Harbour Freight style and was able to get three on one spring. No issues there.
Truck rides great, no sounds at all, smooth, no issues whatsoever. Got about 3.25" of lift off the kit after alignment. I did replace the 2.5" rear block with a 2" RC block because the 2.5" made the back about .75" higher than the front, with the 2" block, the back is about .25" higher by measurement but it looks dead level.

Anyway, I skipped the actuator removal step as well and instead dropped the lower control arms. I saw a few vids where they did it this way...I wasn't able to get the struts out without doing that. Once out, I beat the strut studs with a 4lb hammer and they finally came out, so that helped getting them back in since they are taller with the RC strut hats on. I had no problems compressing the springs. I have two sets of the $30 Harbour Freight style and was able to get three on one spring. No issues there.
So after all that, not thrilled with the kit. I got 2.25" - 2.5" of lift in the front. Drivers side went from 37 to 39.5. Passenger side went from 37.25" to 39.5 (with oem 275/55/20) after I put about 25 miles on it. It was about .5" higher before driving and everything settled in. So basically, with my 1.25" factory block in the back, I'm level. Didn't put the RC 2.5" blocks in obviously. ****, I could have got that with a level kit and saved a ton of work.
Truck rides great, no sounds at all, smooth, no issues whatsoever. Just confused how I got such a small amount of lift from such a big spacer. Regarding the note above about the UCA's hitting the coils, I can easily put my fingers between them when it was jacked up, tire off. And no rotation. So clearly there is a difference between mine and @hours.
i have a 2018 FX4. Wonder if there is a different between these years.

strut
washer, curved shape upwards (sits on top of the strut ledge below the threads)
male bushing
RC spacer (center hole should fit inside the male bushing lip)
female bushing (should fit inside RC spacer and attach to male bushing)
washer, curved shape downwards
nut (will only be a few threads showing)
basically it it forms a "sandwich", washers will be cupped faced inwards so as to not let the bushings slide out, the nut may be hard to get started, if that's the case, just push down on it while tightening, the bushings are rubber so they will compress a bit. Let me know if you need me to send pics, pm me if you want more info, can give you my cell #
