Long time forum reader, first time poster.....
I am looking to purchase the 3" Rough Country system but I was curious how everyones experience has been. Any updates would be appreciated.

I installed the 3" RC about 1000 miles ago. Overall I am happy with it. The ride height is good and no rubbing at all with a set of Raptor wheels and tires on it. It is really bouncy compared to stock and my previous Bilstein 5100 level kit. I will probably look into upgraded shocks for the front to remedy this. I was also thinking of going with an add a leaf in the rear and replacing the block with a smaller one. I tow a tractor and a tracked skid steer occasionally and that really seemed to help keep the rear end more level. I have the bed loaded with camping/hunting gear, dogs, kayaks and everything else you can think of and it squats the rear end below level with all that crap in there. My 09 had the bilsteins with an AAL and that ride was pretty awesome. I had the same wheels and tires on that truck and they fit great without any rubbing. Kinda wish I would have just gone that route but the installer said it wouldn't work with the 17 f150.

Any pics of your front CVs? Very interested in this kit

Investigated this lift as well until I did a bit of researching and experimenting.
I actually started a thread back in Aug. https://www.f150forum.com/f118/3in-r...ft-kit-387774/
I reached out to Rough Country in regards to the CV axle and boot being prone to damage due to the severe angle without lowering the differential and this was their response:
"This unit will not take the cv angles outside of the factory tolerance. It will be just fine!"
To ease my thoughts I put my truck in the garage (level) and jacked the front of the truck up ~3" to get an idea of what the axle angle would represent. I fully understand this is not exact but it helped give me visual of the CV joints.
I forgot to take pictures but at ~ 2", as most have commented with leveling kits, the cv angles are still good (fins not touching on the boot). However, at 3" the boot fins touch and angle of the cv axles is rather extreme.
RC did a good job in eliminating one problem point with with upper control arm bushing but I think they're missing the boat on the CV axle.
Having had a AWD BMW that was lowered and constantly having to replace boots and cv axles, I want nothing to do with this kit unless there was a solution to the cv angle.

I had this lift installed about 2 months ago. Both of the upper axle boots are torn and I am having to reaxle both sides.Got in touch with rough country and they said to measure from the center of the wheel straight up to the bottom of the fender, it should measure 25.5".Mine was 26.5". RC said the problem was that some of the struts ford uses are stiffer than others which causes it to sit to high. They sent me the parts to fix it so they say.The angle on my front axles are extreme and no doubt the cause of this problem according to rough country. Im just saying it didnt work for me and it gonna cost me to fix it right.
