[3.5L Eco-Boost] Differences in 2015 and 2016 model?
Hey there,
New poster. I'm currently looking at a 2015 Ford F-150 XLT Eco-Boost (3.5L) that I can get for a good deal. It has the 302A package as well as (what I suspect is?) the 3.55 ratio as the vehicle has the differential lock feature. I've done some reading and it seems the only real large differences between the 2015 and 2016 model is as follows:
Any feedback or input would be appreciated. Thank you.

- 2015 has MyFordTouch versus Sync 3 in the 2016 model
- 2016 model is able to take an impact / collision better
- 2015 model does not have pro trailer backup assist
Any feedback or input would be appreciated. Thank you.

Pro trailer backup assist is optional, you can retrofit sync 3 but it's kind of a pain and the dealer won't warranty it. Regarding crash performance the only difference is in '15 the non crew cabs didn't have an extra crash bar that the crew cabs did. They rectified this for the '16.

Something else odd I've noticed is that quite a few F-150s I've taken a look at have a "hitch delete" (as the dealership refers to it) or did not come with a hitch from the dealership. I'm assuming this was due to the fact that these were produced with intentions of becoming rental vehicles and that the companies would not want these trucks to be abused or used for heavy work.

I have mft on my 15 and at first I was a little down on not getting a 16 so I would have sync 3. But now I'm glad got mft, thing works great and no issues. Hell I even turned the factory navigation on!

I am with you on this. After playing with both, I prefer MFT. If someone offered to upgrade me to Sync3 for free and guarantee it worked perfectly I would say NO THANKS.
