I just checked the Ford dealership in Winder. I didn't see any 3.5 Eco Sports. Definitely have trouble tracking down,

Loganville Ford has an XLT Blue Flame Sport in stock. It appears to be the only Sport.

apples to apples if you want a faster 3.5 ecoboost off the line. Buy a programmer or down pipe,
Best yet wait till 17s are out and the 3.5 will smoke the 2.7 100% no question SMOKE it.

As of right now stock to stock. The 2.7 in my book from what I've seen, read and talked to owners on the forum. It's off the line faster. Am I stating 1/4 mile? No. But off the line.... It's too close to call. So to me underdog takes it. And on top of that it's an amazing engine!!! So is the 3.5. Just not half as nice as the 17.

You're certainly entitled to you opinion, you're just wrong if comparing apples to apples (ie same diff), but be my guest and propagate as you see fit. As far as "feeling faster", table top torque curves hardly ever "feel" the fastest.

yeah once again I'm not stating full on race. But 1/8th mile or I'm in the wrong lane with my lane ending... I'm talking about every day driving. Not racetrack 1/4 mile where you'll get the boost up then launch. There's a reason all the ford materials on the 17 ecoboost talk about ending turbo lag. Is because the 3.5 has some. But honestly the 2.7 it was practically designed out of it. Hence the changes coming to the 3.5 are mainly from the 2.7, that have been learned from the 3.5.

Do I feel like the 2.7 is better. Likely. For another 6 months. Then Godzilla of truck engines will be released!!! I will be in line for that truck. Just a plain lariat. And that truck stock will be almost as fast as my trans am I had years back. Ws6 manual ram air t-tops. Loved it.

for 2017 the 3.5 ecoboost is getting a refresh. Cgi block, bigger turbos, port and direct fuel injection and the same dual timing chain set up the 2.7 has. As well as a biggie for me the cartridge oil filter on top of the engine.

The 2.7 with this set up is pushing 120hp per liter.
3.5x120=420
The raptor is already confirmed with this engine is 450 hp. But they keep calling it the hp version.
So I bet anywhere between 400-420 for the standard truck.
They also keep mentioning zero turbo lag. That's very much like the 2.7. But I bet port injection helps with that too.
Also if you would like to confirm any of this please google 3.5 ecoboost second generation.

Tons of info.
