Default 3.5 Ecoboost transmission oil leak

I've got a 2017 3.5 Ecoboost. Upon inspection, there is oil on the bottom of the transmission pan. Not sure if the leak is coming from a seal from one of the tubes, or from the pan. Has anyone else experienced a leaking transmission pan?

Also, it appears to be made of the same plastic as the oil pan. Thanks.

Did you recently have the transmission fluid changed out?

I took mine in recently (17' 3.5) to have the transmission fluid changed. When I left for work the following morning, I noticed quite a bit of transmission fluid on the garage floor. I looked under the truck and saw a bunch of transmission fluid on the cross member, as well as other places under the truck.

Turns out the technician over-filled the transmission... and the excess oil was being ejected by way of a weep hole somewhere. I don't know where the hole is. This was the explanation given to me when I took the truck back to the service department to have the issue resolved, and the mess cleaned up.

Was there a leak before you took it in? Also, how many miles do you have on your 2017? A tranny fluid change is not necessary for well over 100k. What were your thoughts?

Probably going to need to wipe the area clean of fresh leaked fluid and look again soon to know if the source is the pan of if you are seeing it at the pan from settling from another leaky area.

As for how soon, nothing wrong with changing transmission fluid before 100k given the conditions the vehicle is operated in.

I've have 66k on mine, I want to get it in for a fluid change.

32k on mine.

No leak before. I had the change done after watching a video of a Ford mechanic. That mechanic explained why we shouldn't follow the intervals in the manual. He suggests at 30k - fluid. 60k - fluid & filter. Then every 60k from then on - fluid & filter.

Then I spoke to another Ford mechanic in person and he also recommended those intervals. Here's hoping for 200k mile major-repair-free engine truck.

Thanks for the quick reply. It seems like overkill but I had a Hemi Challenger and I did all that sort of thing before the specs said too. I've never heard about a 30k transmission fluid change however. Yes I hope you have 200k of trouble free engine and trans.
