Had a 13 3.5 fx4, now I have a 18 lariat
4wd 2.7

I don't feel like I am missing anything power wise but I don't tow... I do not miss spending more money on gas ....I'm averaging right at 20mpg with my leveled truck and larger tires...
The power delivery and throttle response is smooth and effortless and the transmission has been a noticeable improvement

2.7 should be fine to tow a landscape trailer with a few mowers, barrels, and other lawn equipment in it as well? Maybe three times a week if that.
