I did it level (no lifting at all). Was going to try ramps next time, but it'd be the same thing IMO. You might change the angle only sideways, but I never like doing that. I need to come up with a funnel of some kind to divert down. A plug like Fumoto would be my last resort, but prefer not to use it.
