Default 3.31 Gears with Level/Lift and bigger tires

The thought never even crossed my mine when I was ordering, but I read a post somewhere on here that alluded to the fact that maybe the gears wouldn't be big enough for larger tires.... My question is:

Am I going to have problems if I end up putting 275/65/R20 or 285/65/R20 and a leveling kit on my new '15 with the 3.31 gears?

Thanks.

I'm a novice at this doing the same thing when my rims arrive at the end of the month. I am going to keep the weight down as much as possible on the tires. I also went to Build and Price plugged in my exact vehicle with the 3.31 gear set up and changed the wheels from the present 18's to 20's and the B&P let me keep the 3.31 gears.

With 35s and 3.31 a 4 year old girl on a Huffy will beat you in a drag race.

I'm no expert either, but I believe the real problem is with the weight of the larger tires. Not necessarily the wheels even tho they will factor in too. The tires can be significantly heavier when going that big from stock.

Mine will be Toyo A/T II 33.9 weighing in at 62 lbs, so hopefully the girl will have to be Ronda Rousey

Save your weight on the wheel and buy a good tire.

I think the 35" BFGs I was looking at claimed to be 62lbs whereas stock size is lower 50s. I can't believe an extra 10 lbs per tire would make that big of a difference but that's why I ask the question.....

10lbs a tire alone isn't a big deal. It's when you start stacking bad with bad that things become more obvious. Take that +10 pound tire, toss in some heavy as hell after market wheels, significantly increase tire height and those 3.31s just won't cut it anymore.
