Default 3.3 V-6 Water Pump Q

So does the 3.3 base engine have an internal water pump and if so is there a recommended interval to change it out? If not how long should it last before you would change it just to be safe before it caused a real issue with the engine? Any idea what this would cost to change?

The rear wheel drive 3.3 that goes in the F150 has a external water pump. It’s on the outside of the front cover. The front wheel drive has the internal pump.

Yes. The front cover on the fwd has a motor mount located on it The internal pump is quite robust and will las a long time. If it does leak it goes out the side of the block through a weep hole.

that is the way it is suppose to work but not always.if the weep hole gets plugged or the internal water pump get a severe leak then it goes into the oil
