I must be weird, since owning my platinum it has hauled three full beds of firewood, 40 bags of mulch from Lowes, towed our boat in and out of the lake every weekend and pulled a UHaul trailer around. It's a nice truck, I keep it clean just like I would any other car, and I love all the bells and whistles, but it's still a truck.

Just saw a '19 King Ranch with "Diesel" sticker on the windshield here in PA
Did not look at the sticker YET.
What is the guesses on that sticker??
BTW, I'm not in the market...I have a '17 KR that makes me happy.

Easily 20k over a well equipped XLT and the dealer discounts are worse. I don't get it, but have at it, someone needs to buy them.
Things you get that the XLTs with basic option packages don't get:
Leather
Cooled seats
"Styling changes" interior and exterior
8" instrument
ACC
BLIS
4a xfer case
Fancier mirrors
Fancier camera setup
Climate control moved to the sync screen
moonroof
LED headlights
Integrated garage opener
I'm probably missing things, but a whole brand new Civic worth of stuff. I just don't see it.

My dealer offered me a Limited at the same price as my Platinum, and no way in hell I'd have chosen it, just because the baby blue seats alone. But the 22" wheels were another deal-breaker, not only because they're ugly, but the truck rode like crap by comparison. And yes, tire pressures were correct on both. A 22" wheel just doesn't belong on a freaking truck (20s are already pushing it). And finally, I wanted max tow, and Limited doesn't offer it (probably because of the wheels), so a 3-way deal-breaker. It doesn't offer anything my truck does, plus I have max tow and FX4, not available on Limiteds. That's stupid IMO. I'm all for making trucks more luxurious, but not detract from being trucks. But to each his own.
Given that most people here are talking travel trailers when they are talking heavy Im not sure Max Tow 53C wouldn't tow less than HD Tow 53A given the extra fuel tank weight.
The majority of people have payload issues first.

1. 3.55 Elocker - On the 2018 the 3.15 Open Rear Axle is standard and I don't see the option cost. Is it standard now?
2. I don't see the 36 Gal Tank Upgrade. Did you want it? Is it standard now?
3. Wheel Well Liners, did you want them? Seems like a mighty expensive truck to leave unfinished.
I see Optional Paint, 53A HD Towing Package and Tailgate Step as the only options you have.
Looks like about a $9,000 increase for the new engine.

BAHAHAHAHAHA The xlt's a nice truck dont get me wrong but a guy looking at a limited/platinum is not going to cross shop the xlt no matter what the cost saving is. The guy looking at a limited is probably not too concerned about the 20k difference to a base truck and to him its worth it to have all the nice features that come on a limited. Im on a couple other forums and only on this site do you get **** on for being successful and being able to buy the nice things in life, some of you xlt guys are a salty bunch lol I dont even know why you guys are worried so much about what a complete random person whom you'll never meet does with their money lol Keep hatin if thats what it takes to make you feel better

Seriously, though. I see plenty of people out here driving $200K G-Wagons who never take them off road. Seems like an S-Class would be a lot more comfortable and practical, but hey, it's their money and they can buy whatever they want. A $75K pickup truck seems practical and useful compared to that.
(I also understand that offering me the truck I want would be a terrible business case for Ford, since I'm the only one who wants it. Back to browsing ebay for upgrades...)

Am I the only one who caught the 6750 GVWR? That should give a payload of about what, 1100lb?
