Default 2019 Ford F150 Lariat inner front fender, something missing?

Is there something missing from the inner front fender to cover the engine compartment and turbos? Truck is Lariat 2019 with 2.7L Ecoboost
Looking at the holes it appears that something is supposed to on there protecting it. You can see the holes in there. Both sides are like this!

There's nothing there to allow for suspension travel.

My 2.7l xlt has a piece of rubber that attachs to those holes. It covers the gap between the frame and wheel liner.

I noticed this also on my 2019. My 2016 did have a piece there.

Same here on my 2018. Kind of expect the common flexible rubber material in that space. More cost cutting on the best selling vehicle in America. What do you all notice as far as splash inside the engine compartment? So far I'm not sure it's absence is really an issue... except when I spray the wheel wells on spa day.

Seems to be so. Some have a cover and some don't among my friends, trying to get a concrete answer to approach the dealer with.

My 2018 didn't have the splash guards either. I'm thinking about adding them.

My 19 XLT has no rubber flap. The plastic inner fender has no holes to attach anything. Mine has a much nicer looking finished molded piece. The photo looks like beavers chewed out the clearance.

Would definitely keep the engine bay much cleaner!
