Default 2019 F-150 5.0L Consuming oil

I bought a brand new 2019 F-150 XLT, 5.0L, Crewcab, 6.6' bed, 4WD on March 23, 2019 . I love the truck but it seems like it has started consuming oil like the 2018 models. After towing a 7000lb trailer at 3,304 miles I checked my oil and it was barely on the end of the dipstick. 1 Quart later it was up to the lower hole of the dipstick and after 1 more quart of oil it was finally full. I never checked the oil before this, so in theory the oil could have been low from the factory. I have been documenting my oil level ever since I have topped it off usually checking it after my drive home from work and waiting the 15 mins, the pictures below show the loss of oil with in 1,500 miles. Do you guys think I have have a problem? I called Ford and i have them scheduled to do an oil change and told them about this accelerated oil loss and said they will do a "diagnostic" which is $155. There is no visible oil leakage under the truck or on the engine or bell housing. I do park in the same spot at work and at home everyday and nos visible oil on the ground either. The oil still looks very good and does not smell burnt.

Thanks guys,

Obvously the truck is almost brand new so why would you be charged anything? This should be 100% under warranty imo............

The person over the phone didn't take my truck info till after I scheduled the appointment, so maybe they assumed it was out of warranty?? I wont be paying a cent out of my pocket, I bought a new truck for reliability.

It looks like it's going down but it don't matter what I think my 18 looked like it used a lot but like you I never looked it's new ,so did change at 4k and have 2800 on it .The oil was half between the holes and now right above lower hole so not to bad so far another 1k to go tell next change, A friend got a new dodge with hemi and lost a lot but he said when he went to shell rotella it stopped ,couldn't tell you why that is

If anything I will get my oil change done by Ford so I can have a "baseline" and continue to monitor the oil level. Just hope the dealership will be willing to work with me on this.

Well, technically the TSB is only for 2018's so they probably won't run it under that. They should still diagnose and do an oil consumption test if you're having issues though. I'd just do the oil change and monitor yourself for the next 3k miles. If it were me and it was consuming oil after the oil change, I wouldn't add any oil and would just take it into the dealer so they can see for themselves.

@Rigby16 Could you indicate the built date of your truck? So far, the 2019 5.0 burning oil that I’m aware of are built before December 2018.

Looking at the sticker inside my driver side door the Date says: 12/18.

It’s consistent with the few 2019 having oil usage so far. It’s like Ford « fixed it » somehow for built date 01/2019 but we do not know how.

It makes sense that I got one that had an oil issue LOL. I am scheduled at the Ford dealer this Friday. I will keep everyone updated that way if anyone has a similar problem this can help guide them. Im assuming the 2019's are still so new that research and TSB's haven't been published yet?
