@Jons F150 glad to hear you got it to work. Everything is installed on mine except the ABS where I’ve been waiting to see how people do their own IDS updates. Can you put something together on how you did that part? Like what which tool did you use (I’ve seen different ones on this thread), which license you purchased (the 2 days with IDS with FJDS?), did you install the ABS module and then update Forscan then IDS/FJDS or was it a different order, was there a better YouTube video over another? It the firs I’ve heard of FJDS so I don’t want to get too deep and mess something up. Congratulations on adding this.

That is the one I bought but from vxdiagshop.com

As for how to do the ABS module swap I wouldn't worry about using IDS at all since FJDS is cheaper and will do everything you will need plus I had an issue with IDS but I would think I'm one of the few. I personally just bought a 2 day license once I had everything installed and it took maybe 30 minutes max to install the ABS module and to program it.

This is the guide I followed scroll to the very bottom and follow those steps. He does have a video you can follow but you will need to watch the new module install part near the end. Also FJDS will walk you through all of it once you get to the PMI section and select ABS.

This was my first time using either IDS or FJDS minus the weird issue I had with IDS it was pretty simple to do.

I personally got everything installed but the ABS module and made the changes in FORScan minus the ABS change. I then swapped the ABS module and programmed it in FJDS and got it all taken care of. I then went back into FORScan and changed the settings for the ABS module, cleared all the DTCs, and then did the CCM calibration. You can use FORScan for that or FJDS it will not matter. I personally used FJDS just to feel like I got my moneys worth out of the 50 dollars.

Hopefully this clarifies things more for you and hope you get it all working.

@Jons F150 this is great and thanks. When I was looking at other videos that this guy did he had one where he had a 15 focus having IDS issues with a new ABS module. It ended up where he had to go into Forscan and change values from the as built and it worked. I am wondering if that was your issue.

I ordered the tool so I will be trying this out and hopefully getting this done.

So I got the harness installed. Waiting on switch and the sensor bracket (apparently I forgot to order it).

Ordered the connector you recommended above and will attempt this on my own using FJDS. Anything special I should know about connecting it to software?

Just to make sure I got the steps right.

1. Install all the parts (harness, CCM, etc)
2. Make all Forscan changes except ABS
3. Start FJDS and start PMI in ABS module
4. Remove old ABS ECU and install new one when instructed
5. Complete PMI procedure on new ECU
6. Make final Forscan change on ABS
7. Clear all DTC
8. Run CCM calibration

Couple of questions:
1. What is the torque on the 4 ECU bolts?
2. Did you disconnect battery when disconnecting and installing new ECU?
3. Do I need to run IPMA calibration since I didn’t change out camera?
4. Did you run the apply and release option in Forscan on ABS?

Sorry for all the questions. My previous “mods” were all software based (double honk, etc) so I just want to make sure I got it right as this is a little outside of my comfort zone.

As for the VCM-II clone you will have to use there management software and open it and connect the the VCM before going into FJDS or FORScan for it to work. Don't worry about installing any of the other junk they send with it just the manager software.

That all looks good but after you program the ABS module FJDS will instruct you to do the IVD and give instructions on how to proceed with it. I would go ahead and have your truck sitting level before swapping the ABS module because of the IVD. That will happen in between steps 5 and 6. After the IVD is completed I went straight to the apply and release for the parking brake. Once again this can be done in FORScan but I used FJDS since I was already there and paid extra for the software. Then I proceeded to setup 6.

For your questions:
1. 27 lb.in (3 Nm)
2. No, do not disconnect the battery during the swap of the ABS module.
3. I didn't have to run the IPMA calibration and like you I already had the correct IPMA from factory.
4. See above but yes you will need to run the apply and release after the ABS module install and the PMI and IVD are completed.

So I got the bracket installed as well as the switch. Ran all of the Forscan changes and after all the changes I have 2 DTC left:
1. CCM-B1433:54-64 - Missing Calibration ... this makes sense since I have done the CCM calibration yet.
2. ABS-U2101:56-AF - Incompatible Configuration ... This makes sense as I haven't made the final Forscan ABS change.

I also have the pre-collision braking not-available appearing on the cluster but I assume this is due to ABS incompatible config
Cruise is greyed out to Normal and Adaptive is not selectable and cruise doesn't work. Assuming this again is normal ATM.

I haven't received my VXDIAG order yet so I have an appt at my buddy's shop to run the PMI and IVD procedure in IDS on the ABS module on Monday.

I will let you know if anything else happens between now and them but we are getting close.

You are correct on all of those errors being on do to the ABS module not being programmed.

If you wanted you can go ahead and do the CCM calibration now to get rid of that error. You don’t have to wait for the ABS module to be completed.

Glad all of the rest has gone well.

Did the CCM calibration. Took about 4 minutes at 100kmh. Had to do it twice since I apparently didn't read till the end before I clicked ok and canceled the procedure *facepalm*

Still have 2 DTCs
IPMA - U0418:86-2C - Invalid Data Received from Brake System Control Module A
ABS - U2101:56-AF - Control Module Configuration Incompatible

As stated above the ABS one makes sense and I may not have driven the vehicle long enough for the IPMA one to show up. But it also seems to point to an ABS ECU problem.

Cruise still will not turn on and I get the error message when starting the vehicle indicating normal cruise is active but Adaptive Cruise is not available. Guessing that since I have a Malfunction Indicator Lamp ON from the ABS that cruise is disabled in general.

All other errors, pre-collision IPC message and CCM DTC are gone.

On a side note, I tried to set the ABS Forscan change just in case I was somehow the only F150 owner that didn't have to change the ABS ECU. Ohh wow did I make my truck mad... everything brake related broke. Changed it back to original value and back to same 2 errors above... so for anyone else out there trying this, just be aware that your truck gets angry if you try to make the ABS forscan change without first running a PMI and IVD on a new ABS ECU

I am now part of the ACC w/ Stop and Go club. Thank you everyone for their help.

Tested at 50-60kmh (35-40mph). Stop and go works great. She breaks a little rough but I think that was the vehicle in front of me. Also tested at 100-110kmh and she worked great.

I may do a repost of KR2019s original post to add in the steps a noob like me would have liked to see for the next person who wants to attempt this.
