I did that and it still gave me programming failed.
The unit will auto I'd and read codes with no issues?

I've never seen module fail programming

That would figure 🙂

it does auto ID the truck minus emissions and read DTC fine through the self test.

I’ve tried every which way I can think with my limited knowledge of IDS and have watched some YouTube videos and have not made it any further. This is the guide I followed:

www.car-auto-repair.com/ford-abs-module-programming-by-ford-ids/amp/

If anybody has any other ideas I would appreciate.

I will call Fairway Ford tomorrow and see what they think but I’m leaning towards it might be bad. It seems from what I’ve read it should be pretty simple to swap the ABS module out.

Will it let you do that program on the old abs module?
(Just trying to rule out a computer, ids installation, or vcm hardware problem)

I actually now do think it is a VCM issue. I tried a different computer with a new install of IDS and it was a no go for the old and new ABS module. I then tried the CCM calibration in IDS and it would never load the message on the screen of the IPC. I then opened up FORScan and it worked as it should have for the CCM calibration.

I emailed their tech support but I doubt I hear anything back until Monday but we’ll see. I wish I hadn’t sent my OBDLink EX back yet. Then I could have used Ford’s other software to program it.

Thanks s_vares for all the help on this.

Have you tried Fords FJDS? It will also program the module. What hardware are you using exactly?

If you are using the clone you have to use that manufacturers VCI manager before opening IDS or FJDS.

I am using the VCX NANO the clone you told me about. I am also using the VCI manager before IDS and FORScan or it wasn't recognized.

I have not tried FJDS because I didn't want to waste 50 dollars if this adaptor was going to do the same thing and not work. What is your opinion on that? Do you think it will work with FJDS if it's not working in IDS?

It does seem to be working fine with FORScan.

Try FJDS, last I checked your IDS license you paid for will work with it as well so you don't have to pay

If the scan tool is working in forscan, i dont see why it won't work in IDS/FJDS

You were right!! Not sure what it was about IDS not working for me but FJDS worked like a charm.

Everything is working correctly now with ACC. I still need to test the stop and go functionality but got scared at the very last second. I don't want to wreck my brand new truck and I had the kid with me.

Thank you for all your help in getting this done and a BIG thanks to KR2019.

This is proof it can still be done on the 2020's.
