So I took my truck to the dealer today and they said Ford has no modem issues and have never heard of the problem. That sucks! So it’s either Att or Ford. Since Ford took my money, they are the ones that are responsible. Yet they say they can’t do anything. False advertising!

So did the dealership try to fix the problem for you? By replacing the modem or reverting back the update? Seems like new trucks being sold today don't have this issue.

I picked up my 2018 last Saturday, Oct. 14. That said, don't you have to sign up for the trial to determine if you have or don't have the issue?

I've been hesitant to sign up for the trial because I don't want to start my trial period if things aren't working. Do you know of new truck owners that aren't experiencing this?

There are a few people in this thread who posted that their fordpass was working.

And no you do not have to sign up for any trial to use the fordpass app to monitor your truck or use their remote features. I think you only need the plan if you intend to use the hotspot from your truck. But I have 20GB LTE data on my phone that I can use the hotspot for.

When I picked up my truck I installed the forpass app, put in my VIN and it said to confirm and validate through my truck. I fired up my truck and sync screen popped up a message asking if I want to accept. I did and everything worked from there on.

Last time the app worked for me was on October 10, 2017

I reinstalled the app, but here's the weird thing. The app said to start the truck and accept the confirmation and I didn't get any confirmation that night. I said screw it. Next morning I got the confirmation in my truck and I accepted it, but the app on my phone still says pending verification.

I made an appointment with the dealership tomorrow. I will see what they have to say about it. And I will confirm if the newer trucks have the fordpass app working on them. If that is the case I will request to have mine fixed.

I bought my 2018 F150 Platinum on October 6 at 5PM and activated the Ford Pass Hotspot at that time. The next day I dropped it off in Houston at VIVË Detailing at noon where it has been for the last two weeks. I just picked it up this Saturday fully expecting the hotspot to not work and was surprised to find that it was working without issue. On the drive back from Houston we used all of the free 3GB on the trial and it automatically rolled into the AT&T unlimited plan that I setup while the truck was in Houston. If I hadn't read about this issue here I would have never realized that there are issues for some people.

I'm kinda surprised how much data is used streaming AppleMusic on my iPhone connected to the trucks hotspot.

I would be curious to know if you had updates activated and/or if your F-150 had internet connectivity when at the deatiler? Also curious if there is anything regional going on (I am in the Seattle area). As noted above my last vehicle update was on Friday 10/6 in the evening but the HotSpot worked the following Saturday morning but neither worked as of Saturday afternoon. I was parked in my driveway and connected to my home internet during that time.

Well I'm in northern Canada, so it's not regional.

I was on the phone earlier this afternoon for an hour. With a Ford analyst and Ford Pass customer service. The analyst had me do a cold reboot of the radio a couple of times. Nothing. Delete and and reactivate vehicle through Ford Pass. Nothing. Gave me a case number and escalated to higher level. Same routine I went through 2 weeks ago. Everytime I call these people it's like the movie Groundhog Day. And now I have this symbol on the hotspot page in the right corner. A car symbol and the five signal bars with a red X through them. Hahaha!

I haven’t called FordPass back this week but over the weekend was on the WiFi page and noticed the same symbol - the 5 bars with the red x through it as well.
