Has the order guide been updated yet with these numbers? And maybe it has the mpg ratings as well.
Post #80 has link to complete 2018 owners manual. Takes a minute or so to download pdf file. Don't think mpg is listed though.

I have to laugh at these arguments about engines. I have the 3.5L Ecoboost in my 2016, I love it, that is why I bought it. My neighbor and my wife's step dad have the 5.0L. I've driven those also which have plenty of power and I love the sound. The point is Ford gives us all more choices then almost all other manufacturers, so why is everyone bitching? IT'S YOUR MONEY, BUY WHAT YOU WANT! It's not a dick measuring contest people. Should I be losing my **** because the new ecoboost is more powerful then mine? Ford knows there are thousands of you that will only buy V8 in your truck, it's why they make it so as not to alienate a group of important customers....... Enjoy your trucks guys, take care of them, use them, and be happy spending your hard earned $.

Yes, thank you, I have downloaded it.
On the 2018 F150 order guide that was posted, the last page shows tables for Fuel Economy and HP / TQ for all engines. At the time of that post the table is full of TBD. I was just wondering if a new version is available with values.

In what instance does the 5.0 trump the 3.5 in performance? Purely objective question, I'm not picking sides or trying to be confrontational. Also not trying to derail the topic into a 3.5 vs 5.0 but I feel it relevant in this case for argument's sake.

From my research the 5.0 is chosen for sound, perceived reliability, and a stigma that premium engines have historically been v8's in 1/2 tons. The ecoboost is considered the flagship engine with more torque and usable power, the POTENTIAL for better fuel economy, and a generally more modern/futuristic design. Neither is a bad choice, though the reasoning (or defending I should say) is often incorrect, i.e. Turbo failure - I've driven semi's that had 25 year old turbos and 600k miles, some requiring engine tear downs before any turbo servicing. My point here is that the 5.0 definitely has market value, but that value isn't to be the most powerful engine in the lineup, nor amongst competition. Largely, it makes sense to keep the option available so that it can also remain a sensible option in the mustang.

I don't believe there are any real facts yet determining a 2015/2017 V8 or V6 is the more reliable. I do believe the 2.7L and 5L has been found to be excellent.

The previous V8 has a reputation for reliability. The new 2018 V8 , being a new engine , with the added Dual Injection has to earn its own reputation now. I don't know if I want to be a test mule for Ford, but I'm leaning towards the 2018 V8 with the 10 Speed, knowing they practiced with the 3.5L and found that Dual Injection was better than just DI.

The Raptor proves more can be squeezed from the 3.5EB with tuning and different turbos. These V8 supercharge pretty well too. There a few youtubes with the supercharged 4x4 Coyote's running 11.5's on pump gas.

There's also video of a tune only 2.7 running mid 12's. A lot more can be squeezed out of the 3.5 than the 2.7. A supercharged Coyote will still beat a tuned 3.5, but not respectably. Also, were talking $7k to make the 5.0 fast enough to beat a 3.5 with $700 in it.

The 3.5L EcoBoost in the Ford GT running the LeMans endurance 24 hour race makes 650HP, 650lb/ft torque. The Coyote 5.0L Cobra Jet makes 1000+ HP.

Actually, the stock block record of a 5.0 F150 is 11.00. There is a video of the same truck running 11.09@124.
