2018 STX Speaker Upgrade
I'm not happy with the speakers in my 2018 STX. I'm no crazy audiophile, but I need better sound in my truck.
I located all the speaker grills in the truck, but have not yet identified if there are speakers behind each one, given that this is an XL STX. Does anyone know how many speakers are in the truck? I have no interest is running wires to install additional speakers.
Has anyone upgraded the stock speakers in an XL? Was it a big job?
Does the stock head unit in the F150 have enough juice to run aftermarket component speakers?
Thanks for the help!

There are midrange speakers in each door front and rear. Tweeters in the front pillars. A center channel in the middle of the dash near the windshield.
Disconnect the center speaker and rear speakers. Replace the front mid and tweeter with morels
If you want it to sound the best, use the for-1ck wiring harness, a dayton dsp-408, a sub, and get it tuned by Dhmcfadin over on the audio forum.

Have your tried the forscan trick? My 18 stx stock speakers rock, very impressed with the setup actually. My setting is "error" and it sounds awesome. I did ad a small sub behind the back seat, but the stock system sounded good.
I have never accessed forscan, only had my truck a few weeks. Sounds like I need to read up on it...
I did a pretty simple upgrade: I went to Crutchfield, specified my vehicle, and it recommended the speakers that fit. I didn't bother with the tweeters in the A-pillars and just ordered speakers for the 4 doors (I have a SuperCab). If I recall, (2) 6.5" round and (2) 6 x 9" ovals, they came with mounting and cable adapters. As easy as taking the door panels off and installing them. I don't know much about speakers (lots of people here do), but I'm pretty sure any would be an upgrade.

My Supercab XL STX had 6 speakers total. Tweeters in the A pillars, 6x9 speakers in the front doors, and it has 6.5" speakers in the back doors. I replaced the front door speakers and tweeters with a 6x9 component set. I'm no audiophile either. It sounds good to me since I also added a mini amp for the door speakers, and a sub amp with dual 10s beneath the backseat.
