No magic bullet.

But the Ecoboost probably will since it’s a higher level motor. Assuming these are equal price the new one would obviously.

The 20 inch wheels IMO. I've been trying to find an XL in a certain continuation but most XL's are I find are STX's. I love everything the STX offers but the 20 inch wheels are a huge turnoff IMO.

To the OP, if I was using my vehicle for work I would look at a lease and see if I could write it off on my taxes.

I announce rodeos for a living and my tax guy said it's nearly impossible to write a vehicle off. Do you have any experience with that?

I believe you can expense up to $50k in a light truck (business percentage) if you buy and you can fully expense a business lease. (Ask a CPA)

So if you trade a lot doing straight mileage might not be worth it.

Contact ford marketing and tell them you announce rodeos and see if they can hook you up.

Ask the dealer to swap them out with some 18s and give a credit.

We keep our trucks on the street at work but I could see how it would be annoying scratching up your rims. 20s kinda pointless if you get off the road much.

The only downside I'm seeing is ya the 20" tires and extra cost to replace vs the 17 or 18" when you get a flat etc..

And

No SXM built in. I've read the posts on how to fix it, just seems stupid to not have it when you already place the intenna on the truck and it comes with sync3.

all these trucks are built the same way.. mostly with all the connectors and options .. its one thing to build a honda accord with 3 models.. ford has 7? for the f150 .. it makes sense to wire them up the same then add the options later on.. its more cost effective and better for the assembly line .. it also makes it better for XLT and STX owners where they want to add something later at 1/2 the cost

I would go for the STX as well. Looks better than the regular XLT, and the addition of sync 3 is a plus. If 20" wheels bother you, then sell them on craigslist and replace them with a set of 17" or 18" wheels. Armrests can be easily swapped. Another issue might be the 10-way electronic seats. I don't think the STX has that.
