Victim of the (extremely low) probabilities. Looks like Ford corporate reacted fast & provided a good costumer service.
The 5.0 is a great and almost bulletproof engine... Something def. went wrong in the production. Perhaps a loose part or something like that. Sub'd to see what went wrong.

Wrong! Disparaging remarks about the longevity of the 5.0 need to be made. It's obviously crap and can't possibly last. Wont make it past 100k. Should have bought an eco, etc, etc

Going to try and answer all you guys at once. MY REP GOT ME A NEW MOTOR!!!! Not just a long block but a full crate with intakes and more. The dealer said he couldn’t believe they went for it but the two of them working together pulled it off. He said he won’t have to use any of the old motor hardly at all. I’ll post final details of what was reused but it sounds like it’s not going to be much. I’ll post pics after the rebuild. The motor is shipping from Memphis and dealer expects to pull the truck in Saturday morning to have it ready for install as soon as the motor arrives. I asked about the parts in the bed and he said he would take care of them. I’ll definitely go over all of the truck looking for a scratch because it was pristine when it got there. I absolutely love that color. So now I wait for install and after 22 days I think the end is closer than farther away. Thanks for all the replies.

Good on you for pressing for a new crate engine.
My 5.0 self-destructed around 5000KM. I got a new (not re-man) crate engine, also shipped from Memphis. The transplant went great and have close to 30,000KM on the new engine now. I did have an initial issue with 2 of the injectors on the new engine causing misfires. Quick fix and been great since.
This is all to say, that when all said and done you can put the ordeal behind you and have a fully functional F150 in new working order. Plus, you get a free oil change with that new engine

If the bed has any scratches see if they will cover the cost of LineX.

Still waiting
Well it’s been over 35 days and still no truck. Just got a call from the Ford rep and she says the dealer told her the motor was in and they were just “tweaking” it. Whatever that means. Dealer hasn’t called yet and I’ll have to call them tomorrow. Service is closed now. This has been a real stressful ordeal. Thank god for the Ford rep because without her who knows where I would be. I am seriously ready to put this whole thing in the rear view mirror.

These kind of threads make me a paranoid nervous wreck.
