2018 Special Edition Interior --- Yes or No?

I am placing an order in the morning for this package.. I am getting magnetic, which I think complements the interior. I love the black leather with red piping, unique, something totally different than I've ever had.. You can order with or without the decals on the outside. ( hockey sticks) as the dealers call them.. I still haven't made up my mind if I want to delete the decals or not.

Exactly where I am on this. The XLT has very little in the 2018 which makes it alot easier for me. The cost of doing the other stuff makes this still an undecided for me. I am not sure if I will stay where I am at or over time like it more or less. Appreciate all the feedback as it is a really tough call either way. OEM leather hasn't been a strong point for the earlier versions of this model. The SE design looks like it might hold up better, but just a guess.

I like it, but I can see the potential for it to grow old with me. I know I’ve seen some pretty nice Katskin (sp?) leather kits on here....so you could always change it up if you did get tired of it.

Looks good. I love my 2016 magnetic Lariat SE. And as for interior, I am not a fan of Red at all and I love this interior. I was worried originally about getting tired of it, especially as I don't like res that much but I love it.

FYI it is really just red. No orange hue at all. I've seen some orange on the red in some pics (and that was worrying me), but that is the result of crappy quality of the lens sensor. In real life no matter how the sun hits the accents, it shines no orange.

I agree with "the SEs are way overpriced by Ford, blah, blah , blah", because it is true!
I agree with "any exclusive exotic car is overpriced, blah, blah, blah", because it is true!
So what makes one buy it? It is the likes of it and the "can" of it! If one likes something and can afford it, then will buy it. If one doesn't and can, surely will regret it!
I decided to not have regrets. I liked the overall SE package and got happy that the new Lariat seats don't have alcantara in the center, so got one, even thinking that probably I'd get tired of the red pretty soon, specially not liking red very much as a colour. Then I remembered, when I bought my '13, I didn't want the FX4, because didn't like the red cluster. Hated it! Couldn't conceive that colour at night and always loved the soft blue on my XLT. But regretted not getting the FX4 even though my XLT was fabulous!
This time I said "crap, red cluster and red accent all over, but I'll try and if I don't like I'll toss it". Now 3 months later I say I love the design of the seats every moment (even if driver's is still stiff) and the red cluster is growing on me!
My pref colours are LF > Oxford White > Magnetic > Black.

If I was looking at the lariat package I would go special edition for the blacked out LED headlights alone. Special edition XLT looks ok, but not worth paying the premium in my opinion.
