My last ride was a BMW 3 series and I made the mistake of ordering the 'sport package' with non-optional run flats. Mainly, the sport package was low profile tires, runflats at that. I must have replaced at least four wheels before i wised up and ditched them for BBS wheels and regular tires. So yes, I could afford a BMW and I could afford multiple destroyed wheels, but why not order the right wheels in the first place? I would agree with the commentators that state the size of the wheel has no bearing on snow ability, but it sure makes a difference on rough roads.

Exactly! The 18s are a better truck tire on many levels. I don't get the 20 thing and I'm on my second truck with them. The 18s ride better, perform better, and cost less. I'm in the NE too. From 2007 to 2017 the 20s are better than they were 10 years ago but the ride is still harsh compared to 18s.

The fastest legit and stock truck here on the whole forum is a 2018 5.0 with 3.55 gears. Runs a 13.2 dead nuts new and stock.Bump that to a 3.73 and it may be even faster. There ain't an ecoboost here that has come close

FYI- my 20" wheeled XLT rides as smooth as a buts '17 with 18" wheels. Cant tell the difference

Guess you have not been paying attention huh? The fastest truck (stock) on this forum is a 5.0. Owned by Maurice from NJ. 13.2. Aint an EB that has touched it.

wow ! Interesting. I may have to go with the 5.0 with 3.73 gears. There is one I can get my hands on. Thank you. I really thought the ecoboost out performed the 5.0, but maybe not.

I just went from a 15 with 18s back to 20s on a 17 and hitting bumps on the interstate is definitely harsher. I wish the Platinum had an 18" option but as far as I know they all come with 20s. Obviously, it's not a major issue for me but if you were to give me two identically equipped trucks one with 18s and one with 20s I would choose the truck with 18s on pretty much every level.

I'm not sure where this truck is but every performance test by all the magazines show the 2.7 is the quickest. I can't account for any individual's truck or conditions at the time they ran. Test after test shows the 2.7 is the quickest truck motor in the F150s. The 3.5 EB has the best torque for towing. The 5.0 isn't a bad motor and it certainly has it's fans around here in spades, but it's not the quickest and it doesn't have the most towing capacity. If you like V8s I think it's a great motor and I'm sure you will be happy.

Maybe. Can the pressure be too high in the truck with the 20-'s? Mine rides like a freaking Caddy. Honest. I did come from a Jeep Wrangler so maybe my butt is used to rough riding? lol

It's entirely possible. I just read a thread on this exact issue. They seem to come from the factory with 40PSI but the door sticker says to inflate to 35PSI. I tend to think they ride harsher because they need a stiffer sidewall because they are lower profile.
