2018 F150 King Ranch 3.5 Eco, 4x4, 157" wheelbase, Max Tow Pkg, and tow mirrors with about 1100 miles on it. My mpg is averaging 16-17, but I have a 2" lift with 295x60R20 10 ply tires that are not helping the mpg. I'm sure the tow mirrors dangling off the doors like boat sails catching the air aren't helping the mpg either.

I don't have anything to complain about, but I have a couple of things that I'm watching. When the truck is cold, the transmission upshifts hard between 3rd and 4th the first time it works through the gears. Also when I first start the truck, the engine shakes a little before it settles down. It feels like the stutter I get when the auto engine start/stop shuts the engine off at a stop light. Other than those two issues that may not be issues, I love the new truck.

Default Thus far

I have had my 2018 SC 3.5EB short bed Lariat 502a with most options except adaptive cruise for about 1 month, ~600 miles.

Issues I've found (that I may do something about):
-Slight rattle when the motor is cold from under the truck. It's hard to hear, I'll probably do nothing about it until it gets worse or something breaks.

I added a bedrug, Lomax hard folding cover, stubby antenna, and I have 17" Ford OEM wheels with snow tires coming soon. I also did the windows to 35% ceramic.

So far I love it! The "rattle" at start up I believe is a known issue and it doesn't bother me since it's so quiet now. If it gets loud like some of the youtube vids, I'll take it in and get it fixed.

Warning: I'm an engineer and fairly detail oriented so the rest of the "issues" are nits at best. My wife calls me crazy.

Issues I've found (that I won't do anything about) . The warning here is I notice lots of "flaws" but this is a mass produced vehicle with mass production realities. Most of this list falls into the "I'm probably crazy" category:

-The door handle cut outs are wavy. You can see where potentially a mechanical punch made the cut outs for the door handles. There's a bit of a wave (meaning sub millimeter, but visible from certain angles)
-The truck bed quarter panels, same there, manufacturing marks on both sides you can see, again sub millimeter, but definitely visible.
-The shifting is a bit jerky occasionally, but it's been getting better the more I drive it. My definition of jerky is that I can feel the shift. To be fair, it's a "spoiled" perspective since shifts you can't feel are the "normal" I'm using. IMHO it's a non issue.
-Some of the panel gaps are a bit off, again, I'm crazy, these are sub millimeter to maybe a max 1-2 mm offsets that I'm sure are well within tolerance of most mass produced vehicles.
-I've found a couple small 1-2 mm paint flaws. Nothing major. The orange peal is much better than my old 4runner, but not as nice as my co-workers Porsche. (expected 40K vehicle vs 100K). Also it's worth noting that I've never seen a "perfect" paint job, even at car shows, you can always find something....
-Surface rust on the rear differential and some other parts down under. I may do some rust treatment on the truck, but I tend to not keep them long enough to make it worth it.
-Occasional slight rattles. Mosty when the truck is cold. No worse than what I find in most cars I drive. I did have a freak 1996 Camry that I beat on mercilessly in highschool that oddly never had a single rattle?
-In the gauge menu of the information screen when you select "Boost Gauge" or "Transmission Temp gauge" it shows the opposite of what you select? Very odd.

This later part of the long write up further proves my family's point that i'm insane about my cars.

Hope this was helpful to somebody!

Very well put and good write up! As you stated, mass produced, better than some worse than others. I do feel my Ford has better power and tech than most or all the other brands.

No issues so far with my '18 F150 Lariat 3.5l loaded except for adaptive cruise. Thought I may have heard the "engine pop" or something like that on ignition or shut down but wasn't paying enough attention to say for sure. I'm pretty sure I've read it's a known issue for ecoboosts but can't remember. Getting about 11.5km/L which is much better than my '14 Sierra with the 6.2l v8. I don't have a single regret yet trading in my Sierra, it did me well but the F150 is miles ahead in terms of comfort and driving experience.

2018 Lariat SE with 5300 miles. No issue other than the WiFi quit working which has now been resolved with the TSB.

2018 F150, 4x4 S/crew 3.5L FX4, 157wb, max trailer tow.
Only about 1200 miles on the rig but noticed the other day as I was putting in Pace Edward Jackrabbit tonneau, the inside of the bed box has a gap of up to .020 between the sides of the bed and floor.
As a retired Quality Manager for the largest commercial aircraft company in the US you kinda notice these things. Headed to the dealer in the morning to speak with them about it. The tonneau protects the bed but it just doesn’t look right. Not real happy about not having wheel well liners in the rear either.

That's like saying you're not happy your truck doesn't have rubber floor mats. You might think those should be included (you wouldn't be alone), but it isn't an "issue" with your new truck.

Wheel well liners? $110.00 and 30 minute install. Done! .020 gap in th bed? Reflex spray in bed liner. Done! No big deal in my opinion. Life could be a lot worse. You could own a Chevy Silverado with the dreaded shake. Now that's a big deal!

Not sure why but my 2018 XLT Screw and every truck I looked at had these gaps. I have appointment with Line-X on the 23rd to get the premium spray in liner. Might make me feel better about the gaps. Also going to order the OEM wheel well liners.
