Passed the 10k mile mark this past week. Bought it in May 2018 and not a single problem so far.

My diesel has been very good so far too. Just that EGR valve recall. The diesel is very smooth and has tons of responsiveness in Sport Mode. Installed box steps, mud guards, and rear wheel well liners. Ready for some camping trips! Mileage 20 around town, 29 hwy so far.

Truck went in the shop today, tech found the pinion bearings had almost no preload on them, seeing what all needs replaced. probably the bearings are toast

Thank you. Surprising to see this on trucks this new, but if it was something that wasn't set up correctly to begin with and causes excessive wear, I guess it was bound to happen. How many miles do you have on your truck?

2018 XLT Sport 5.0 4X4
4500 miles
(Minnesota)

Just started getting the Bad Weather two weeks ago with the -25 stuff
Now 20" of snow in the last ten days, so most of the time in four wheel.

Twice now, sub 30 MPH when letting off and rolling to slow, a pronounced Clicking noise. (experiencing this morning in the six inches of new snow in traffic was awesome... cough)
Light tap on the brakes to see if it is an iced up rotor, Clicking Stops, Battery Light On, Truck not Running. (removing brake pressure and there is no restart, so I don't believe it is the Auto Off)
Push into Neutral and restart. Pops right off and continues to run the rest of the way to work.

Ideas??

I have had no door freezing issues, nor have I heard any of the reported engine rattle issues.

Only other that I have experienced were two check engine lights that reset after four Start cycles.
I'll have the codes pulled after some of the Thaw Me Out rush at the dealership slows down.

I think I have the same issue. I've been noticing a louder whirring noise. I feel like I'm following you, didn't you also have your fuel injectors replaced also. I'm at 6700 miles now.

I looked up pinion bearings and it describes it exactly as I hear it.

"A “whirring” noise while decelerating at any or all speeds is most likely caused by bad pinion bearings or loose pinion bearing preload. This condition is typically always diagnosed as a bad ring and Pinion gear."
