Is anyone else still unable to register on ford.owner.com ?

For months now, it's always bombed out at the end for me. Ford's online support tells me they are aware of the issue, and to try again in 48 hours. They've been saying that since I bought it in September.

Interesting, how do you mainly use the truck? We have single cab short box 3.3L and get around 20MPG in mix driving. Wonder why yours is so low, weight of your set up perhaps?

I bought my truck on Nov. 30 and only have 500 miles on it. At 10-15 mph I hear a sort of scrubbing noise, like maybe it’s wheel related and coming from the rear of the truck. It’s not very loud, but I have a good ear for noises in any vehicle, especially a new one. Dealer’s service advisor rode with me yesterday. He could barely hear it. I decided to drive it awhile, assuming It’ll either get louder or quit altogether. My wild guess is that it is brake related. Do Ford brakes ever need to ‘set in’ when new? I tried a few panic stops, but that didn’t make any difference.

I'm at 7500 mi on my 5.0 SCAB. After months of, funky shifting, 2 TSB resets, fuel system cleaning, new spark plugs, new EVAP purge valve to correct MIL, the truck is finally beginning to run well. I've never had any noises from the trans other than the startup clunk which seemed to go away after the shifter cable recall repair. The trans almost always shifts 1-3 skipping 2nd, and 3-4 or 3-5 depending on throttle input. Most shifts especially in upper ranges I don't even feel. Occasionally when cold with low throttle , I'll get a somewhat rough shift into 4th. Once warmed up its fine. It uses maybe a quart of oil in 2500 mi so far.

I changed oil at 6300 mi with 39% oil life left. Used 5w20 Penzoil full synthetic. Occasionally at hot idle I will hear what sounds like some noise from the front end timing set location. Planning to run Mobil 1 in it at next change to see if there's any difference. Have the Ronin drain plug ordered to replace the yellow plug.

Body hardware, seals, fit and finish, paint etc has been flawless on this truck so far. Brakes are a big improvement over my '05 SCAB. Had the Sirrius antenna replaced due to poor reception and it works much better. The FM reception with the Sync3 system does not seem to be quite as good as the Kenwood in my old '05 truck. Need to get the hood latch adjusted a little. One of the tag lights was bad when first put in service. Had the driver seat back cover replaced under warranty due to excessive wear on the lower door side bolster(sport cloth).

I'm getting 16 mpg average in mostly rural driving, non interstate. Using 93 octane fuel. I keep trans in normal mode except when towing my landscape trailer.

Comments?

Have you been calculating by hand or is that what the truck is telling you?

I keep track using GasBuddy app, the truck system seems to overstate mpg a little from what I've noticed.

You are wasting money running high octane on an engine designed for 87. Best thing is to run top tier fuel from the list of top tier producers, which is long.
