Default 2018 Oil Drain Plug

Help! I have a 2018 3.5 TT that I am doing the first oil change on and the plastic drain plug broke on me before i could get the thing off. I knew going into it that the plastic tabs could break and sure enough even though I was being gentle I broke one tab off. The plug is still in place and it is not leaking but I cant get a replacement plug until Monday or Tuesday so my question is; can i drive my truck with just one tab holding the plug on or am i playing a stupid game that i won't win?! Since this is my first change in my new truck I am not sure how much force is required to get the plug out so your advice is much appreciated.

Common sense would dictate that you should not drive the truck.

If you still have one good tab, I personally wouldn't be worried by it. It's a low stress/low vibration item.

It happened to me on my last oil change. I had someone drive to the dealer and pickup two spare plugs for me.

With one tab it stays on and I thought about driving muself to the dealer and picking up the new plugs, but with my luck It would spin loose and have issues.

When I performed my first oil change, it went smooth with the drain plug. Slightly lifted bottom tab with small flat screwdriver and turned. Not so much the second time. Does the dealer techs have a “special” tool for the plug removal with LOF?

Auto zone carries a big assortment of replacement drain plugs- they are by the oil filters

Which tab are we talking about? The tab on the yellow oil drain plug or one of the black tabs on the oil pan?
Can you upload a pic?

Just did first oil change yesterday and one of those tabs also broke off.
From what i can see they just prevent the plug from turning to far. Tried multiple ways and the plug is secure in the pan so i used it and will pickup a new one for next oil change.
Two tabs(ears) on the plug

Does the 18 fit the 17? Anyone have a link to it? I've seen several but wasn't sure it was the one I need
