Want it to drive like a diesel? Get the Ecoboost.

Want it to drive like a Mustang? Get the V8.

No hate on either, it's just a personal choice that you need to make.

And both having the 10 speed in 2018 might close the gap a little more.

Yeah, there is a whole thread on that one; it is pretty funny to read. Quite a few more Ecoboosts out there for techs to service compared to 5.0s. Mechanics prefer simpler designs; easier to work on. I drove them both but slightly preferred the 2.7.

Average driver with average driving 2.7L or 3.5L torque respond in traffic best. V8 sound lover will love the 5L above 50 mph where its torque is cranking on.
This is how these extremly different designs work.

LOL yeah I didn't see the other thread till after I posted, but I still favored the 5.0 in my purchase only because I was hearing about these gunked up valve issues with the Direct Port Injection 3.5 EB's. Supposedly that issue is fixed but that will remain to be seen till after a few thousand of these new ones get 60-100K on them.

You need to do some research because you certainly don't know what you're talking about.

I did my research, months of it actually, speaking with some of the most well respected mechanics here in my area and that is exactly why I didn't by one. Same reason my last F150 was a 4.6 and not a 5.4, I did my research and waited till I could find one. And If you don't know or understand what I'm speaking of with the 3.5, I suggest you heed your own advice.

This should help explain The EB issue, but like I said, I heard this issue was fixed.
