2018 Loaner
Took the 2017 to the dealer for the seat belt tensioner recall. They found water on the 1st attempt so they needed to keep the truck to fix the water leak and then do the recall. They gave me a 2018 XLT Sport to drive as a loaner. I decided to play guess what engine it has. Keep in mind I have a 2015 with a tuned 2.7 3.55 and a 2017 with the NA 3.5 3.73. I thought the 2018 had the 3.3, it felt like my NA 3.5. I get home, open the glove box and to my surprise the window sticker says 5.0 3.31. What a turd. On top of that, it was getting 18.3 MPG, a full 2 MPG less than my 2.7 which feels like a sports car by comparison. I know the 5.0 is a great engine, my daughter just bought a Mustang GT and it's great in that car. I wouldn't have it in an F-150 without 3.73 gears to compensate for the lack of low RPM torque.

there's absolutely no way a 5.0 felt like your 2017 3.5. None. The 10sp auto with 3.31 gears is the equivalent of 3.73's in the 6sp auto you have in your n/a 3.5.
So....objectively, your inference that the 3.31s is killing performance is incorrect.
Let's also note that the 5.0 makes more torque and power pretty much everywhere in the powerband than your n/a 3.5.

How in the world did you hammer down on the 5.0 and not know it was a V8 under the hood? LULZ.

Yep mines ab 18 5.0 and its fast...take traction control off and put the pedal down. I could burn off my rear tires if I wanted to. I also have the 331s
