2018 Lariat to 2018 Raptor? Talk me in or out of it

There is absolutely no debate, Raptors hold their value far better than any trim of F150 (At one point Raptors were selling for 101% of their MSRP after 3 years). Plenty of data to back this up. That's the good news. Bad news is you have already taken the big depreciation hit on the Lariat. Worse is that you are planning in trading it in and are really getting boned on the value. Sell it private party and then go buy you a Raptor (hopefully you can find a good deal on a lightly used one and maybe save a couple grand). You will earn some of that money back that you lost on the Lariat with the higher residual values of the Raptor over time, while the Lariat continues to lose value at a higher rate.

Ton O' Raptors Isn't Much
So, that's what, about 1/3 of one? I didn't think Raptors were on the featherweight side of the F-150 range.
You just need to find someone that did the Raptor thing, doesn't use it off-road and want's a slightly more practical vehicle choice. i.e. find the one person in the country that wants the exact opposite of what you do.

Personally, my thoughts on the subject are, if you have doubts, then you probably shouldn't do it. That's just my 45 years speaking though. A'course I could be senile...but at least I don't know it!

If you need the Raptor go get it no holding one back just because one should never look back.
But your questioning your decision when your over 1/2 way done on the Lariat. Why???
Lariat has creature comforts that just are not on a Raptor.
With a Raptor you get the highly refined exhaust note of the hi output V6 that sounds like farts in a bathtub.
Finish your build drive it then make up your mind. Reasoning is when selling a 1/2 way done build is the why not this or why did you stop questions. Which in turn depreciates your truck even more. Do realize everyone's build needs are not the same but the core ones do not change.

I have a Lariat that I have basically converted as close as possible to a Raptor, the final component where the the 2017 raptor shocks and coilovers, my god the ride is awesome, soft over the road awesome in the sand. The only reasons I didn’t get a raptor, “would have been cheaper”is I wanted the 302 and the additional six inches of width makes it hard to park go thru drive in’s and fit in my garage. Drive the Raptor and then a Lariat, then buy the one you enjoy the most!

I say buy the Raptor! We only live once and if you have a tow rig, a commute car and I'm sure your better half has a means of transportation, do it. You said its what you want right?
