Default 2018 grille removal

Hey everyone
I picked up my 2018 Lariat SE the other night. I also picked up a black SE grille (xlt version) as I wasn't a big fan of the Lariat gray color grille. Unfortunately I didnt think of this until after I ordered the truck so the dealer isn't willing to swap the grilles at any type of deal for me. So...how hard is it to remove the old and replace? Any videos anyone knows of? YouTube doesn't have any 2018 videos that I can find. I'd rather save a hundred bucks and do it myself.

Look at this thread...

https://www.f150forum.com/f78/2016-2...d-swap-396299/

and maybe PM "mikegmang", he might be able to help out. He took out his 2016 grille and put in a 2018, so I'm sure he could provide pointers for removal as well.

It’s exactly like that video shows except you pull by the headlights. The tabs on the grille lock into the lights. Also you need to remove the upper valance... the plastic upper bumper.

What is the best way to go about pulling the lower trim piece below the lights and grille once you get the 2 bolts on each end out? You just pull on it or is there a certain way to get all those clips to release?

You just pull on it. They are similar to the clips that hold several other items on these trucks.

It's easy. Just do yourself a favor and put blue making tape all over the fender and bumper for when you reinstall the trim between the grill and bumper. It's really easy to scratch if you're doing it by yourself .
